I don't suppose I've ever mentioned that I owned 2 pair of the original speakers.
Mike Dayton Wright even drew a cartoon of me with them stacked, top ones inverted, with another guy
saying "Something tells me you used to own 2 pair of Dayton Wrights".
Which I did.
I also have a pic of Joe Sammut's system with the Plasmatronics on top of the Dayton Wrights.
Those were the good old days....

BTW: I saw Kenny Loggins in Santa Barbara in '82. At the outdoor amphitheater above the town. The acoustics were awesome, the PA was simple and the sound was fantastic. In fact, it was a PA that was a non PA... so good it was. And no, I wasn't wearing them bell bottom jeans. ;-)

The DAYTON WRIGHT - how could I forget the exceptional fellow behind that company? There was a time that the DWs were the speaker we lusted for in Atlanta. After all, John Cooledge had a pair and that was all that mattered.
I was fascinated with the idea of the diaphragm in that gas bag. Brilliant idea.
Got to hear those a few times - always an interesting experience at Dr. Coolidge's house.
He invited me to Atlanta Symphony Hall once when his Mother could not attend and he is handing me his popper bottle in the balcony front row. I did not like that stuff at all but I would pretend to take a whiff of it to please my host. When you are nineteen you want to please as much as you can. I never did any further pleasing than that.
We took a FUTTERMAN H3aa over to his house one day - needless to say it was overwhelmed by the DWs legendary thirst.
Julius was another of the great fellows. Always had time for his customers and we held him in such awe we knew never to waste his time. It was a good balance..

There's a huge amount of history - Dan D'Agostino was the DW rep in the U.S. and my business partner
Joe Sammut had the stacked DWs, so you can see how the connections happened. When Dan decided
to make amplifiers, all the lessons about driving DW's went into an amp designed around Apogee ribbons....
