The 25 does not have any source resistors/degeneration... that makes a huge difference in my experience.
You could get that SissySIT amp of yours modified a bit... correct wiring, toroid / PS PCB / AMP PCB layout, grounding, speaker returns, parts selection... pretty much tailor the sound to your taste and your system.

Is shirtless (or less) listening acceptable in your household? 🙂I’m one hot amplifier away from having to install a supplementary air conditioner in the listening area 🙃
From June to August: mandatory, preferably with a cold beverage. 🙂
I'm also leaning towards getting a class d amp to handle woofers so the growing collection of room heater amps will only have to handle mids and tweeters. This would bring the wattage/dissipation requirements of the next vfet/sit amp down.
I dont have any speakers in the house below 90db so this would also seemingly open up more options...but I'm already having a hard time deciding which one to build next. We'll see!

Reichert in STEREOPHILE thinks the THF51 is a new device.
I remember when he used to know what he was writing about. Those were the days.

I think that's a minor error. It seems to be new for audio use. The big magazines have bigger problems, IMO. Younger ears and more critical subjective reviews would help. It's hard to discern subjective differences between gear that's all "Highly Recommended!" Everything is wonderful.
P.S. I did think Reichert did an exceptional job in his relatively recent review of the TAD $35k stand mount. (Of course it's a lot of money, but $35k seems cheap compared to a lot of the gear SP and TAS reviews!)
