Combing is evident because of musicians listening position.
And common to just use wideband / fullrange with no crossover
rather vertical or horizontal combing is likely from listening position
To incorporate a classic 4x10 and reduce common combing issue
Use .5 alignment which allows horizontal placement.
2x " bass drivers" would be in the Transmission line
with .5 crossover
the other 2x drivers in a sealed compartment for high end.
Hey so Danley filled his patent on 2006, after 20 years the patent expires so in 2026 what going to happen? The actual TH118 plans will be declassified or just means that only the theory for his tapped horn will be available and you need to design your own with his patent notes.

Typically a 0.5 aligned box doesn't have speakers in separate chambers. To do so, as you are describing would sacrifice a substantial amount of low end for little gain vs a simple first or second order low pass on speakers on one side.Some true, some exaggerated

A 0.5 alignment may yet be the way I go.
To me the biggest disadvantage of the traditional 4x10 is that they're cumbersome to move. Too small to wheel around like an 8x10, too bulky for one person to carry around easily. Hence my desire for a vertical 4x10.
You can make the Bosɜ Waveguide, the serpentine, and divide into two Trunks, all the drivers are hidden. Problem number One being the acoustic isolation of the cabinet in accordance to its moveability.

Indeed, I thought that the application was for Guitar, then i read again post #1 and It says 'bass', so probably an acoustic tunnel would produce something not too bad.

Having looked at it my eye/brain says it's just a TH w/ a distributed source. Although providing some amenities.Can this be sorted Out ‘better’ ?
Thanks for sharing! That certainly seems like a nice design, which should work quite well with bass guitar. Yes, the back speakers might be Better result as a natural '0.5 way', being placed such as directivity/dispersion has the meaning of...having no meaning. Well, maybe a (open Cell..) blanket could do the trick, Just for the occurrance if...(Just because I raised the question...never mind)(

also agree 4x10 squares are hard to carry.
Vertical with dolly style castors is way to go.
lease lift more rolling.
I remember rolling my 8x10 past the 1x15 guys lol.
actually easier to roll than carry a small cab.
301 bin even lighter

Wasn’t Martin, it was Chris & I initially promoting bipoles.
I would have suggested this, but the rear firing woofers are not going to work in a MI situation i think.
For bass, would not sealed with EQ make the most sense for small compact light with no limit on how low you can go. A TL will unload below tuning.

Uhm...I did think of the enclosure as a JBL style scoop(?!) With two woofers (and two on the back). Just a Little bit taller, but since OP leans toward a straight line, It should be ok. Another variation Is having two woofers with the basket outside (?!)
