I can't argue about that, I wasn't around when Mr Pass gave out anything for free, today I only see ultraexpensive things attached to its name...Nelson has donated so many hard-to-obtain transistors to DIY-ers on these forums for free. He's personally put together many kits and made them available to this community to learn, build and enjoy the sound. He's shared FW designs and has guided many of us. He also promotes electronics to all generations, irrespective of the prior knowledge one may or may not possess. He likes to share, help, guide and educate - that sits firmly at the very top of the Maslow pyramid. I am grateful for this and I pay respect, duly deserved.
I am pretty sure that Pass Labs wouldn't charge anything either, if one of their amps was sent back for fine-tuning/adjustment and/or repair, out of warranty period.
As they (Wayne and Nelson) pointed to you on so many occasions, they do stand behind their products... but your agenda is blinding you completely from seeing the obvious.
For some reason his designs with very few(actually 3) exceptions never had any appeal to me maybe because I'm too poor for his kind of market...
There's a problem though...we have here a guy who paid at least a second hand price(possibly 5...10K$ !?! ) on his Pass monoblocks that for some reason didn't know he could have it fixed for free.
I'm happy to hear that PL policy is to rebias his amp back to 2000Watts RMS into 4 ohms load as specified for free 🙂
By the way...Wayne and Pass never adressed me in person nor pointed anything to me... this thread is the third topic in his corner where I got involved...and 90% of the posts of all the three topics are found in this thread.
There are already a few people who think I get in full contact on a daily basis in NP corner...Well this thread owns most of my interventions in a Pass thread.
Read carefully before giving an answer that implies I did, said or been answered anything about, against or by Mr Pass cause it's simply not the case.

Because you are not looking, you are not listening either.

Then why the heck are you commenting so profoundly about something that you are not interested in?
You are even ignoring suggestions here that could bring you beautiful pure class A, single-ended sound for a very small dough.

No. no problems. It is second-hand gear that was tinkered with. Readjusting the bias and ensuring a sufficiently capable mains outlet would provide nominal specifications. Wayne has mentioned to you already that he'd like to see both amps to ensure they are compliant with the published specs.
That shouldn't really be of your concern - you don't have the money and you don't want their design.I'm happy to hear that PL policy is to rebias his amp back to 2000Watts RMS into 4 ohms load as specified for free 🙂
Just curious...are you Mr Pass personal bodyguard?
Hopefully we're all going to see those missing 5...800 watts /8 ohms coming out of the biased hat.

^ You've stated (or at least implied in the wine analogy - Post #312) that the information can be obtained "very easily". Why not get the information and put this all to rest?
Is this a forum section for PL buyers only? Then why the heck are you commenting so profoundly about something that you are not interested?

Is @ WBS THE "Wayne" in Pass Labs? I didn't know that...said thst already: his is the third topic in this section I get involved with...^ You've stated (or at least implied in the wine analogy - Post #312) that the information can be obtained "very easily". It seems that you all know the shareholders in PL so you know everything about PL componence and products...I only wait for the rebias and those 2000 watts / 4 ohms resistors to get tested 🙂
No, not to my knowledge. Wayne Colburn has posted within this thread though. You can find his posts. Is @ WBS THE "Wayne" in Pass Labs? I didn't know that...said thst already: his is the third topic in this section I get involved with...
What? No, not at all. I just want to see the supporting compliance documents that you and at least one other have claimed are so easy to get and/or prove compliance non-compliance. My goal is simple, get the facts on the table for everyone to review and discuss. IF the amps are non-compliant in a particular jurisdiction, then I think a number of people may like to know, including me. It would be a great learning experience. It seems that you all know the shareholders in PL so you know everything about PL componence and products...I only wait for the rebias and those 2000 watts / 4 ohms resistors to get tested 🙂
Side goal, and I'm only joking a bit. Poke nicely and in a friendly and fun manner at those that claim things are 'easy' but won't actually take any real measures to accomplish 'easy' tasks that might benefit everyone's understanding of the matter at hand.
... this thread is the third topic in his corner where I got involved...
On three accounts to many. You behave here as a typical troll, deliberate or by nature doesn’t matter.
Pass Labs forum section is one of rare where there were no ‘bitching’ threads, until now. People are friendly and discussion is relaxed, directed to designs and experience exchange. I personally see this as a ‘code of conduct’ to be a member that really ‘belongs’ to this forum section, where prime examples are set by Mr. Nelson Pass and by ZM.
Lok how pathetic and pitiful your latest posts are.
@Itssllinmyhead
@bforce already indicated you the CE compliance requirements and documents with printscreens...
I only said it's easy to prove if an amplifier meets those documents or specification .For that you can pay some money to an independent metrological laboratory or just make a legal complaint about the products to Customer Protection bureaux in any EU country and they will make all the checks for you. I had a damn long post about it...
By the way , the Audioholics video talks about measuring the stereo version of the Pass monoblocks and he did the measuremrnts using Audio Precision equipment. When you're using a callibrated AP equipment by the book, everything the AP tells can be used as legal evidence as AP equipment is considered the most well regarded measuring equipment within the audio industry.

^ They posted the requirements (that they've stated apply to the product), not the documents showing compliance / non-compliance for this product.
I read your posts. You think that's easy? We have different definitions. Also, I'm not in the EU, so I likely don't have standing to request documents from said authorities. I also did not claim it was easy. However, you've said that it's easy, so would you please do it?

@bforce mentiond the name of those documents early in the thread.^ They posted the requirements, not the documents.

It only takes a few minutes to write an email to your local authority here and at least in Romania we have about 40 County metrologic labs and Customer protection bureaux(office)..
They have the legal obligation to conduct all legal inquiries on the matter within 30 days if a legal complaint is sent on their email adress .They'll contact both you and the manufacturer or Seller and ask for all related documents...It might take longer though...
I don't encourage anyone doing it as it is painful to be able to stand the stress of gathering all legal proof, but handling the gathering information process wrongly will lead to only one party being punished if found wrong while the plaintif will only pay the metrologic bulletin and be told if he was right or wrong...That's why it is called Customer protection not Manufacturer's protection office (bureaux)...It's like on Ebay...the guy who pays the money gets most of the protection.

^ Apologies, edited my post for further clarity after you quoted it.
So, for clarity. You're not going to do it. Previously, it was very easily done. You're now saying that you "don't encourage anyone doing it". You disagree with the person that you're citing - They've claimed that supporting documents must be provided from the manufacturer to the consumer. We now have to get a government authority involved and in the middle?
Sheesh.
Does someone actually know how this works, and are they willing to get their hands on these elusive documents and share them?

Will you please read the first post of this topic? It's not my topic.Of course I am not going to do it cause I'm not the unhappy owner of the Pass Labs monoblocks...
I have read it. I was involved in the discussion fairly early on. I never claimed it was your topic. My hope was that a person that claims something is easily done might help out and do the easy thing that might bring this topic to conclusion with facts vs. speculation. So, I politely asked if you would.
Seems your not that person. No worries.

Oh...I found it...Well...then sorry...I think there's a guy short of about 10 000 bucks who has 10k reasons to troll here , but I have the FEELING he's going to buy those 2kWatts 4 ohms resistors and bring this topic to a more objective ground! On three accounts to many. You behave here as a typical troll, deliberate or by nature doesn’t matter.

Well easy in relative terms...30 days for a legal inquiry is not a lot though. He still needs to buy those 2kWatts load resistors and make the tests at home before adressing any metrological lab as it's cheaper cause he might like to know he's right or wrong beforehand! Metrological bulletins aren't too cheap and I used to order a lot of them a decade ago...I have read it. I was involved in the discussion fairly early on. I never claimed it was your topic. He already told us he has no intention to get such lengths and he's a fan of Mr Pass himself...
I wonder who's really provocative here cause I got bored answering all these questions for a million times.
So, the only thing left would be for you to get the amps and the resistors. It seems to me that would be a small price to pay, in your case. Just imagine all that joy and happiness waiting at the end if you managed to prove the spec-sheets wrong.
Wouldn't that be something??
