The new Mark Audio CHN-110 6" driver

Has anyone tried building the St Helens Top Firing Vented Box for the CHN-110 from the official web page ?

I have limited space in my listening room, so this enclosure seems a perfect fit, but I was wondering if anyone has experience with it ?

Thanks in advance!
Interesting indeed? Smaller than the Kewel yet goes some 10hz lower? I'm sure Planet10 or Scottmoose can help as they have produced several designs for the CHN110.

Hi Waxx. What design did you settle on for your 110's?
I did a own design MLTL, a bit like the Kewel, but front ported and with a slot in place of a tube. It's not a clear picture, but it's evening here and i only got my iphone with me for it...

They look really nice. Are you pleased with the sound? How do you design a slot over a port? Is there a conversion formula. I do like the old school appearance of a slot

They are good, i have many speakers, but these are (with the big fanes) in the main spot now for some time. They are not eq'ed at all and don't need it.

The MLTL was designed from start with a slot port. How to do the conversion i don't really know (i'll have to research it) i use square cm for how big the area must be and make sure the slot is not more than 1:5 height vs width and big enough for the air speed to be low enough to not disturb. The math for that you can find on the site of Martin King or use hornrsp (like most do today) to calculate. Speaker design is math mostly, and i'm good at math the oldskool way (by head or pen and patper) so that is how i do it.

i did some inroom measurements of my CHN110 MLTL... Off course you see the room modes in the bass section as my listening room is not treated and i used here no eq in any form. This is amp direct to driver in the cabinet in room from my listening position more or less.
