Alpair MAOP 10.2

Thanks for the anwers.
However, this model is no longer listed on the manufacturer's website. MAOP 7 and 11 only
This probably the best driver from Mark Audio is not available anywhere.

Madisound in USA is showing 4 in stock @ $507.00 per pair

Maybe its "progress" the Mono Suspension is the latest technology Mark Audio have introduced.
Maybe they have phased out the MOAP10 there will be a MOAP MS10.3 ?

I agree it is much cheaper on the two sites you linked however since neither of them have it in stock the price listed is irrelevant in this case. Even if it was 1 euro you still could not buy it since it is unavailable.

Only you can decide how much it is worth to you and bear in mind it may soon no longer be available if you say it is no longer listed on the Mark Audio website. This may be your last chance to purchase it even at the high price.

I live on an island in the Caribbean Sea. I purchased a pair of MOAP MS11's about 3 weeks ago from the same company Madisound.
If I remember correctly they costed $589.00 + DHL which was $80+ . Then I pay import duty of 22% based on the landed cost ($589.00 + $80+) so that's an additional $140.+ Expensive but I wanted them so I had no choice. I also tried a European company but they had no stock either.
Expensive, yes, but I have them.

507 USD per pair is terrible price

Seems perfectly acceptable… the A7 MAOP i got were $400 and a bargain.

The only reason that i could imagine it would be discontinuned is because the tooling for the basket has died and it makes more sense to do a new basket. That is a prime reason for the new 4” baskets (P7HD/A7ms), maybe A10 baskets are now NLA, and given they are a small maker, they need to amortize the new X11 baskets for a while longer. It would explain no A0p as well.

Just speculation, we also have to keep in mind the pressures that have affected, particularily small businesses, in the last 2 years, now with a huge exclamatoin mark due to one man’s ego,

Covid lockdowns in China likely had little affect of runs of drivers but would have potentially had issues with suppliers of such things as magnets and baskets (VCs come from Japan, paper cones form Taiwan, not sure where the metal cones are pressed. MAOP is finished in Japan.

I do hope we see a new X10 basket (and an X5 one).

I’ve got a matched pair of Mark Audio MAOP 10.2 drivers been sitting in the hall closet. Never mounted, gaskets unused, no dents or dings as new. I only listened for a short while to the raw drivers and just didn’t feel they had the potential to suit my preferences.

Will let go $350 shipped CONUS. PM if interested.

i bought MAOP 10.2 for 320E plus shipping , and this is good price. if they were 400-500-600E i would never buy them.

i dont beleive that is possible to sell with the loss. it is forbidden to sell below imported list price. if they get them cheap it is their bussiness.

now , sound after 6 moths in permanent use in big MLTL (60 liter), is even more mellow. feeling like too much bass and reduced highs.
break in period is long time finished. now to compensate this feeling i will consider to put them in smal enclosure, 15 liter, where box will reduce bass and mid and highs will go up. according to simulation BR 15 lit is perfect for this driver. i have one ready.

at the end, i have no any complaints on the driver .

the bigest disaster from MA is Alpair 12P where i lost 434 EUR (ordering from usa 10yrs ago). no any joy in this one, who will return this money to me? im thinking to employ this driver to MID in 3 way system maybe will work there.

the biggest surprise is MAOP 10.2 which is at the moment the best MA driver for me.
