I have a Tannoy CPA12. The box is very well made, and has a internal brace supporting driver's back.
Between magnet and brace there is a piece of gummy thing, very similar to blue tack.

We have found that using something stiff, non-compresible is better than the gummy stuff.
With a coax one needs to ensure they are bracing the basket, not the cover on the tweeter magnet.

I just received the four units of MAOP10.2 I ordered. Somehow to my surprise only two come in pair, and the other two are from different pairs, even though I did send email to ask for matched quad if possible. I have no idea why the seller deliberately broke up the pair.
Anyhow, attached are the printed measurement. Are the two separatel units measure reasonably close? Thanks.

Er -yes. The maximum Fs deviation (which is the matching criteria) between those four units is 1.0826Hz.

Thank you for the comforting message. 🙂

Hi,
Just sharing my MAOP 10 build years back. I was using the FHXL with an Alpair 10.3 for 2 years and switch to the MAOP 10. Very happy with the switch as I have gained more impactful and extended bass as compared with the Alpair 10.3. I have a 20 sq.m. room and currently the MAOP FHXL is being driven with a 4 watt EL84 SET (RH84) tube amp and handles all frequencies from top to bottom and does not clip. I was surprised that a 4 watt tube amp was able to handle the not so high efficiency MAOP drivers. Maybe the MAOP drivers do not dip so much or stable and maintains its DCR (Revc) at 7.2 ohms. Maybe some of the more techy guys here would explain why the FHXL/MAOP combination is able to perform well with only 4 watts of tube power.
Anyway, here are some photos for your appreciation. The subwoofer speakers are not connected. I just added a fostex super tweeter just to augment the extended highs for clearer highs especially with cymbals. Also, a TAKET Super Tweeter BATPURE is added in the mix and it helps in improving the tone quality http://www.taket.jp/batpure/batpure.html

Are those the Foster made Radio Shack bullet tweeters in your own housing?
dave
The super tweeter is Fostex FT17H which was modified made by Crafty & Co. in 2015 to include an lpad and 3-way selectable high pass filterAre those the Foster made Radio Shack bullet tweeters in your own housing?

Very nice.
Just got a pair of MAOP 10.2 and they seem well matched but the Vas 30.6 L is very high compared to others I have seen . Was considering the Mar Ken CGR box but they sim as being quite undersized . Looks better at around 20+ litres at least to my inexperienced eyes , Can someone have a quick look please?
