Yes pano, that would be the one.
RCA Victor made that style consolette from 1956 to around 1963 under different model numbers.
The tapered legs are removable/threaded to use the cabinet as a table top option.
Some models were "stereo compatable" with a "dual channel" amp, (single-ended 35C5's) mine WAS.... but I converted it to a punchy mono type, and the original rear remote speaker rca jack/slide switch is now an aux input.
If you walked into my home, you'd think you were in some vintage museum.
Tasteful decor, yet dotted with a vintage piece here and there.
I'm eclectic in decor, even my music, I love being different, free-spirited, non-predictable.
I believe in individual freedom, I'm certainly not a "sheep". 😉

How about incorporating speakers specifically for difficult bouncing scenarios?
Like, perhaps, a pair of narrow MF/HF horns, on swivel mounts to aim at suitable surfaces. In addition to better sounding direct speakers.

You want to keep moving your system around?
Get a lot of speakers, and wall mounts like those used for fans and theater lights.
Play around till satisfied.

Since it would just be a single box, and not a "system" as such, it certainly could be moved around more easily. You want to keep moving your system around?

I like the idea of designing a "product" that is versatile enough to be used anywhere, rather than a complex configuration that only will work at its best in one specific location.
Don't get me wrong, a proper two-speaker hifi in a treated room is a thing of beauty as well!
As for using multiple speaker in their own boxes, on swivel wall mounts, all within the one enclosure (and probably hidden by a fabric grill), yes, that's perhaps my current favorite approach for this thought experiment.
Yes! Such a thing of beauty.
I'm also following the Dodo dodecahedron thread. I'm wondering if I could split one in Left/Right halves, and how satisfying the results would be.
I'm reading up about the IKO... it seems they use some pretty heavy DSP to do some sound projection. Not clear if they split the signal L/R or some other way. The DSP/projector stuff is over my skill level.
I have a Yamaha YSP-5600 sound bar contraption, and it uses 44 (!) small drivers for projecting (bouncing, really) sound off walls in a very steerable way. It's that same damn difficult living room! Nowhere to hide wires, nowhere to plug anything in.
The bouncing where fairly well where I have a surface to bounce off, and not at all if you don't.
I had to look that one up - so 20-sided, right? Those 44 drivers are very similar to the ones i have for my planned icosahedron.

Are you actually making one? Will you attempt any kind of DSP trickery, or just run them as one unified speaker?
These are intriguing! Obviously not to buy... I feel like I'm splurging if I spend over $100 for parts for a speaker.
But I'd like to understand how they work. At first glance it looks like just a pair of 2-ways with a flat sub, and some amps and DSP. Is there more to it?

Seven drivers in total:
1 x 8' woofer
2 x 3” midrange
2 x 1½” fullrange
2 x ¾” tweeters
But I dont know how it works, it must be some sort of advanced digital processing.
Too bad it looks like a folded folding table of some kind. Unseemly. Cheaper to ship probably. Quad esl 55 would be a better look for it, maybe black or tan though, that brown makes the Quad look like a space heater.

That big flat baffle is likely one of the reasons I hear that they have a very "sweet spot everywhere" kind of sound.
But I think they do have a proper left/right speaker setup, but that seems almost like a secondary consideration for those kinds of contraptions.
Yes. 20 identical equlateral triangles. A 3D printer is on my shoppng list.I had to look that one up - so 20-sided, right?

These 35mm Foster drivers.

I would recommend the Belkin Soundform Connect rather than an Airport Express:

Signal is smaller though, so might need more gain
