Btw Geoff from HeyNow Hifi has the last pair of Revel Salon 2 in Australia. Tell him I sent you and he’ll give you a discount. Only 18 thousand of our micro pesos. And it comes in any colour you like, As long as the colour is black…
Whatever drug Adude is on, I want some of it…

According to my modelling, in that cabinet he will be able to reach 12mm excursion @ 107db with an F3 of 30hz. Or 112dB with an F3 of 40hz. And a nice flat smooth roll off as well. Tight clean bass. No port noise, and no passive radiator noise. For him in his small room it’s enough.
The Selah speaker with passive radiator has an F3 of 65hz.
Rick was ahead of the game because he already got rid of DSPs last decade and incorporated reduced baffle step compensation in this passive crossover. So when the customer puts it in the listening room, relatively close to the walls (<0.5m) which is what most people do, the in-room tonal balance is neutral, and the bass sounds smooth and balanced.
If you want to stick them well out into the room he could customise it for full baffle step compo as well. Or it you wanted to soffit, into your wall he could do that crossover for you too. No exhorbitant surcharges. And the customer only needed one amp per channel.
We’ll miss Rick, his wisdom, his helpfulness, modesty and ability to deal with customers and critics alike with equal patience and thoughtfulness. RIP

Isn’t that like 12-13k USD? If that’s really Salon2 not Studio2 that’s a REALLY good price anywhere.

Rick was a good designer. And I followed his work since he started. However he never tried a good DSP system before. So he didn’t know what he was missing. RIP

Just checked website. It’s sold. But yes it’s was the last Salon 2 in AU. And it’s a discontinued model.
What’s a good DSP system ADude?
Try CamillaDsp - there is a thread here.

He used DEQX, miniDSP and DCX2496. Maybe even Ultimate
Equaliser but I can’t recall perfectly. It’s been awhile.
You know what they say about a workman and his tools…

That’s all junk as far as I’m concerned. If there was anything good available, I wouldn’t have wasted my time and effort.
Acourate is software not hardware. And certainly not something that anyone other than a extreme hobbyist would use. I make gear for regular people who want something to work with ease and no effort when setup. And seamlessly integrates into smart home systems and immersive surround processors.

But with the above being said, I own both Acourate and Audiolense. And it’s perfectly compatible with my system. As it’s available as a 4 channel DAC in WDM, ASIO device on Windows, or Core Audio device on OSX, and ALSA sound device in Linux. So if one really wanted to use it, they could. Only problem is you can’t use it with video and have it in sync. And if you can’t have video sync, there goes 99.9% of the market.
And that’s an issue with many DSP systems on the market. The latency and clock sync between audio and video. Ravenna handles the clock sync perfectly.

I had no idea he'd passed. Sorry to hear that. Vale.the late Rick Craig (RIP)
You know, it kind of makes sense to have uber-sized sub drivers available. Intuitively, driver size should scale inversely proportionally with the passband frequencies... so if a 12" driver works well down to 40 Hz (given the SPL requirement and such), why not a 24" down to 20 Hz, or a 48" down to 10 Hz?An absolute bargain in Australia ! $139990 - Who says the Australia tax isn't real - Love our HiFi distributors

(never mind space constraints of course - one can dream)
Not intuitive to me as I know SPL is proportional to Vd and how that comes about is fairly irrelevant. Lots of 18s with EQ and power will do the same and cost less. Impressive looking to the non technically knowledgeable. As well as breaking cones 🤣I heard a rumour that Accuton has gone bankrup.
