Old Soul

Oh Mighty ZenMod - What is the correct part for M101?

I powered mine up and offset voltage is not good - close to the power rail.
M102 bias adjusts and it is warm but 2N1099 is cold.

Looking over the schematic I see the part for M101 is not specified.
Zenmod's Pack list has IRF9510-2pcs which must be M101.
But I think I got IRF-510's.

I've ordered IRF-9510's from Digikey and will try again when they come.

well, if you got (from me) 510 instead of 9510, that is all mine mistake (though, you can still blame Pa, core of my negligence being what his influence made of me - constant multitasking)

it must be IRF9510

I believe that nothing is gone Dodo due to unfortunate swap, but if did, just buzz me and I'll send what's needed

🙁

so, tip also for myleftear - check IRF number

OK, ZM majorly ooked up ......... but - you got complete packing list (I'm using as list , checking each item with dot when put in bin), where it is written IRF9510
I know you trust me ....... but you know what Dr. Haus always sez - "everybody lies!"

:bawling:

I would follow you down/up to the OTL-phono-pre!

(Problem on my side is that I don’t know where to stop following and where to just close my eyes and carry on, and since 1 „greenhorn“ a day but not more should be ok for both of us, I sometimes close eyes once too much—not least because the geniuses—you included—are quite relaxed about substitutes)

Conclusion: as long as nothing went through the roof, I consider all as good. Except that having an old soul (for dinner) on the bench without knowing how good it‘ll sound is a bit a sort of very sophisticated torture [emoji83][emoji1782]

Bon apetit!

yup

our Jan Didden did interview 🙂

excerpt:

I was admitted to the Institute of Technology, University of Trondheim, and continued my studies there. I earned my master’s degree in electronics in 1960; my thesis was the design of an arithmetic unit for a CPU, with discrete Philips germanium transistors clocked at a phenomenal 250kHz! I worked at the electronics lab of the Institute until 1961, designing instrumentation for the lab. Then in 1961, I got a job at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corp. in Oslo as a design engineer. For the next eight years I designed studio equipment, both in tube and semiconductor technology.
