Old Soul

yes , you're many ........ and I'm just one , coping with deliveries to me ......... then deliveries to many ..... :clown:

but, I'm happy , when I read that someone is happy after assembly

Old Soul wasn't choice of too many, I believe 7 packages all in all

Though, I believe little beast deserves plenty of attention - it's really unique in sound and most likely best one I saw in last 20 or 30 years, sound wise and technology wise, still worthy having Ge in name , simply because that Ge Bigun really dominating sound signature

I got curious when you first postet about it, and got all the more curious—and dangerously impatient—right now…

Long before giving it an ear, I’m really happy for being able to build a beast as exotic as old soul! Thanks already, ZM!

but not even 3 hands

Implant it! 😀

(Will have to split activity: redo layout while running this beast)

After some unavoidable breaks (sleep/work/family) I'm kind of closing in again:

I swapped the bottom-plate with a customized, smaller one.
I rewired the whole thing with more reasonable wire.
I redid the back-plate because in the first round, speaker-posts and tranny collided.

And feel like being set back to field 1: It works just so-so!

(about 1 mm space between HA! and power-in and 1 mm between switch and tranny). IF I'd rotate HA! 90° (DC in on the bottom, DC out on the top), I'd save 20 mm! But I'd have to re-rebuild the plate and re-wire that rect-CRC-part, argh!

"should I stay or should I go?"

Then, the whole chassis-build is a quite fiddly task, it's almost impossible to access all screws with the board in place, not to speak about the task of setting bias etc. ... re-argh! (should have mounted the boards horizontally, which I didn't "because" the 300mm heatsink is too short for both board and bigun germanium bugger.

So, I'll reverse the :judge: §2 of the DIYA-constiturion:
NO GLORY, NO PORN
