Hey everyone,

I love my MAOP 11’s immensely, though stereo downmixing for movies never seems to work right, so I think it’s time for me to build rears, center, and a sub haha.

Would it be best to keep keep the speakers homogenous and go with more Mark Audio drivers, or are there other drivers better suited for these extra speakers? I’d likely need to wall mount the rears since the corners are occupied and the room is kind of tight.

Thanks in advance!

You rock man, thank you!

Now to figure out a subwoofer :cheerful: budget is whatever, maybe under 700; 1300 cubic foot room (16.5x9.5x8.5 lwh) with a lot of acoustic treatment-- bass traps, wall panels, etc.

I heard the Rhythmik 12 series is good? Not sure if there's a general subwoofer questions thread to post in or if I should make a new thread haha

Just received my order from Madisound. My drivers are labeled 11MS Gen 2 on the boxes and on the magnets. Strange as I don't see any reference to a Gen 2 on the MarkAudio site and I don't see any Gen 2 mentioned on the Madisound site either. Anyone know what's different about this driver vs the Gen 1 which I assumed I was ordering (Didn't even know there was a Gen2)?

This has been asked before; without digging my answer out from whatever thread it's lurking on, in essence, there is no difference for the end-user. What happened, as I recall, is that they made some changes to the surround materials because the manufacturer wasn't able to produce the originals to the desired tolerance with sufficient consistency. The different spec. is easier for the surround manufacturer to produce reliably & provides the same results (or near enough). As a result, they relabeled the driver 'Gen.2', which is technically correct, but as far as buyers are concerned there is no functional difference.

Hi all,
How far apart do people place their MarkAudio speakers? Does the equal triangle formation, generally work okay?

The reason I’m asking, is because my stereo system, also forms the front L/R of my multi channel system & I'm planning on moving to a larger screen, which will push my speakers out a little further apart & as I don’t use a centre speaker, I rely on a solid central image from my front L/R.

If you pull too much apart it will take a toll on the high freq response due to severe off axis. So as you pull it apart if you notice treble is running low then toe-in until you get a desired sound signature.
