Shui Yuan Audio TPA3255 Modification Thread

The smps PSU you are using is really bad I own it. It has a Bad ripple.

You should get a LLC with a good ripple and low noise.
The PSU has very important Impact in term of SQ

I have the same power supply, for a new 5.1 project.
Well, no switching noise ...
It does not heat up, and hold the tension ....
It is also not forbidden to add low value capacitors at the output .... ceramic or polyester!
to filter residual ripple ... 🙂

You are lucky ) But I am not sure you can ask a 10$ PSU to make a great job ) They do the job OK but they are not as good as a my Hisonauto LLC PSU.

Hi Daniboun, I read you keep discovering and testing new budget and mid range class D amplifiers, you also have some high end including Purify 1ET400A
I am aware that the Purify 1ET400A is considered to be among the best, unfortunately I cannot understand why you keep experimenting with other low end amps when you already have the top to hear.🙂

Hi,

I share with you the effect of the OP Amps update on the 3E Audio TPA3255 finished amp. Rolling some new OP amps can help and improve performances.

I imagine the reasoning can be repeated for the other TPA3255 modules

The LM4562 is a Bipolar OP amps, should be nice to see VS the OPA1612 (Bipolar as well) but checkout :
OPA1612 has slightly better specs than an LM4562 > less noise and distortion, faster, and more output voltage swing.

LM4562 opamp has a very good performance already and is very forgiving on suboptimal layout, expect diminishing marginal returns when compared with OPA1612. Maybe less than 3dB improvement/or worsening depending on circuit/layout.

This shui yuan is very cheap not to ignore, price of single tpa3255 ic is now at 11USD on mouser / lcsc due to global silicon chip shortage but we can buy this module at ~30usd.

We enthusiasts often tend to change ... and when we do it for ourselves ... we often do it for others) simply )

I still have a lot of things for you to discover and little known by most diyers.
I think I love sharing as I love discovering, I have an insatiable curiosity and not only in the audio world)

Are you from Italy ?

By the way for those who are looking for an Amazing DAC to accommodate their class D amp, I discovered this gem, take a look here:

Yes
I asked you this question just out of curiosity, I like listening to music and when I find something I like I tend to keep it for a while then in the audio field we are all made the same, we always try to find something that sounds better.
However I appreciate your sharing.
Thank you

Piacere alora )
The Buffer of my Purifi amps are made in Italy : we developed it in there with an engineer friend who lives next to Jesi.

I recently discovered a class D amp entirely made in Italy, whose musicality exceeds that of the Purifi ... I have not yet had the opportunity to get my hands on it but according to the echoes of my Italian friends , this new amp is very promising. Probably my next conquest (depending on the price of course) It powers about 700W / 4R and 350W / 8R in a small factory form factor.

Keep on enjoying music )

the tpa3255 arrived, checking the diagram I saw that for the input capacitors they are indicated not polarized, so I assume MKP or similar. Can someone confirm me that they are those indicated on the amplifier but they are electrolytic? Has anyone tried changing these electrolytics to MKP or similar.
Thank you

So I finally got mine as well a few days ago, and it sounds really nice stock! No hiss, no sibilance to speak off. A faint pop at turn off, but nothing that bothers me. The soundstage is big and focused with quite nice detail retrieval. Clean bass. Not the best amp I've ever heard but pretty freakin' fantastic for the money! Currently driving it with ≈29-30vdc smps but if it gets even better with more capacitance on the power rail and new op amps, I'll get a beefier supply and a nice case for it.
Just a little surly because the legs on my dip8-adapter won't fit and most 4700uf caps seem to be backordered. I'm gonna try and find some adapters with round pins as suggested in this thread, and try some other op amps.
Had anyone tried it with the LME49720? And suggestions for 4700uf caps that might be in stock...? :grumpy:
