...but still have to be cleaned and partially remade.

It was humor as I found the concert not so good... too much Tron from Walt DIsney... well totally virtual as claimed, not one of his great concerts of the past.

Looks like they will open a supermarket there as they already have the music (I joke, of course).

It's work done by a large team of peoples with direction of Jean Michel Jarre,
a music video show on YouTube given for free without annoying commercial ads every 5 minutes.
Oculus or similar Virtual Reality is no doubt trend of future web internet computers technology etc.
Anyways New Year concert are symbolic positive message to the world Notre Dame de Paris are in renovation and rebuilt process.

I agree with the last sentence, I just found Jarre not on a good level as the computer animation. especially vis à vis of what is seen in Japan if you really want to talk about modernity.

My tastes. For me it's not a concert more a clip, I'm even not sure it was "in direct" ! A little disapointed. But great symbol, yeah, and I believe a thanks to the world for all the support received.

But frankly "un concert de chiotte ! rendez-vous manqué", Vienna was better... as usual, whatever each others tastes... YMMV

Now it's a question of taste, when I visited the Bombonera in BuenoAires... I felt nothing particular, however I believe it's a UNESCO protected building too !

Each one like his own cathedral genre... pyramid, stadium, even nature : Iguazu falls :)... or the beautifull never copied BuenoAires cimetery (sorry don't remember the name but it has not to be miss ). Certainly the top two sites of Argentina.

..........

It was declared of "Sports, national and municipal interest of the city of Buenos Aires."
If UNESCO did something like this, we, the Racing supporters, would complain and with good reason. :D
In the Boca stadium you are afraid of falling head over heels on the spectator who is under your feet, in our stadium, you can take the mattress and enjoy the show lying down.
The second important tourist place here could be the Nahuel Huapi Lake, the boat trip through it is wonderful. Or perhaps the city of Mar del Plata, although it no longer has the splendor of the past.
The Iguazu Falls are a World Heritage Site, I have been there twice and hope to go again. I missed the trip under the waterfall .....

What your location ?

I didn't say this was the best contemporary music and video.
Even if they have ~ 680K views only on 2 days and more thumbs up by a larger majority than down.
It's not my favorite, but I know the evenement purpose and the message make sense.

I stay far away from the gross and negative attitude of your last post..

Damn if the Huapi lake is the one between Argentina and Chile in the north Patagonia when I visited, the boat trip was 150 euros or 250 euros (don't remember exactly) and clearly a thieves mafia plan with big boats only for turists... I took the bus from Bariloche to Chile instead... I'm a back packer with not a great monney and I was happy to visit these two country.

Yes this cimetry, just awesome, loved it as I loved some in Kyoto or Paris Père La Chaise, but yours in B-A has the palm... I can imagine it's photograph spot, I'm an enthusiast photographer myself but for some reason don't like to shoot in such places.

at tango SH : not a negative attitude, just fed up with the perpetual **** with gift paper around one should WOW evrytime without sense of critic, If we agree on the sense of the event, I clearly foundthe concert bad, all those people for such a not result is not à la hauteur of the lost fleche. It's just my thought, free to you to read it or not. N-D diserved something better, even if the idea of JM Jarre concert is a good one imho.

Now when you see all thes people without the beginning of a culture that wanted to make N-D an experiment building just because they read on magazine it was high technology when it was made, I'm not surprised at all... gout de chiotte c'est gout de chiotte !

I'm happy it will be remade with the last looking and the organ refurbished :)

Yes, it is that same lake ..... and the price of the boat trip was expensive, you are right, but you have to bear in mind that they took pictures of you, and you took them as a souvenir on a beautiful DVD with other things of interest .......everything has its price !!!

Are you french What year were you here? Because I met a French adventurer with a beard and long hair in the 70's .....

exactly what I don't want to experiment when I travel, The boat price was half the price of the flight and a niche for rich turists. Exactly one should not do imho.

Now it's the same everywhere, people don't look at they just take picture of themselves with their smartphone in front of monument to say I was there in social networks... pathetic, at the level of their intelectual culture most of the time. The shame of it is yo have not the choice for seing it that to pay expensive boat almost as big than sea ones. Two companies iirc, same boats, same price and no cheap cool alternative with a little boat for this calm little lake I finally did not see... but for few monney I took the boat after the bus between Bariloche and Chile (for the earthquacke) after a night in nice german style village with its lake as well, for Chiloé island... great place as well.
But we are off topic.

I'm european, but mostly I m' earthian and I was there in 2010 both Argentina and Chile. Pisco sur and adventure :).

Yes keep classic excellence!

From my country insider position modern architects have refined taste to make lots of money quickly.
New project " Triangle Tour Paris " is horrible.. looking like.. a sandwich :yikes: :D

HIdalgo mayonaise sandwich club in fiscal paradise retirment package and many zorro shadow for the people being in the wrong side of this tower ; just stupid and cleverly wrong at the max of the idioty ! Almost 70 yo late about the design choice ! And the ununderstanding Paris is not a skycraper city, exactly as Rome or Venice !

Montparnasse Tower re-shame story again and I bet you my slip they just will make telepheric between the Triangle and the Tour Montparnasse. Why not call it the dark place turist as in Netflix with the palm of the Ugliest ! It's not hard to understand that what is great in Paris is rare contrast : for example Effeil Tower metalic verticality vs horizontal classic stone around an empty space. it can eventually answer to Montmartre.

They break this exception and they will waste the city. It's not like the Beaubourg center which has an interest and still has because the contrast mise en scene there . Ah and the new Chetelet les Halles is just ugly... thnks Hidalgo. I believe if Hidalgo has managed N-D refurbishing... then Las Vegas had some worries, lol ! Personally I will call that diapositiva de mierda - pun intented- They have no luck in Paris each time they try to construct vertical to cope the megalomania, story to smell the future of an already past concept badly cloned in Asia and Arabia with their towers as if they have no identity they at least have...but maybe don't know they have one.
I believe it began with Montparnasse tower in Paris, after the new grande biblibiothec, then the triangle... Bermude flush mauvais gout ! What a pity and a crazy tradition of architec president as the emperors ages... just crazy, very french : le pire et le meilleur at the same time ! IMHO and not an exception... but very french at least ! France evitato el piego with a modern refurbishing of Notre-Dame as a glass reflect of the paradigm of the bad taste and the megalomaniac temptation of a single man !

Call it the egyptian and Inca complex... lol ! Time to make something diferent, alas (Vegas) we are in the age where most of the todays architects saw Stargate serie at TV... you see what it gives there .... pfffff, too bad to do homeworks and watching TV at the same time when you're a teenager.

Btw some interresting graphic comics from ENki Bilal about the future and a tradition of chaos in architecture where pyramids are often seen and culminate in the excelent Blade Runner movie at the begenning in the first scenes with Vangelis music.

It worths the reading for the ones liking cities architectures. Apocalyptic visions with an eye in the past with maybe a Constructivism period influence from the soviet days...
there was a comic from him about Paris iirc called rdv in Paris...something like that.

"these French oaks will soon form part of the new spire at Notre Dame"
Notre Dame: After centuries in the ground, these French oaks will soon form part of the new spire - CNN Style
"This winter, drones were used to scan a snow-dusted forest near Le Mans in search of the first eight trunks that would be used to support the spire. The drones, with the help of 3D imagery, were used to seek out specimens measuring 3 feet wide and over 60 feet tall, with no visible defects.
...these trees were planted under King Louis XIV's reign in order to provide wood to build the masts for ships belonging to the French navy."
