Ok, I'll tell to everyone: Check engine light on your dashboard means nothing - just drive faster!
Could you share to everyone what is the exact problem with your module ? So we can help we need details...."not working" does not mean anything....
Hello! I have a Shui yuan amplifier with a few mods: 2x3300uF Nichicon PM, LM4562, Meanwell LRS-150-36 smps with simple FET capacitance multiplier with 29V. The sound is very, very good with the ALR Nummer 2 speakers. (4ohm) I think it's true here too that the lower supply voltage gives a softer sound. I'll try to upload a picture later. This amplifier is worth the effort because it is much better than what the price suggests.😉

Really cool ;-) first real feedback. Would you give a try with some Opa1656 to compare ? Do you plan to test with an higher voltage ? Do you have another TPA3255 to compare with ? Thanks
Currently I could only try the lm4562. I tested with multiple voltages with and without a capacity multiplier. The lower one suits my taste better. (The multiplier suppresses 4 volts.) In the future I will compare it to my friend’s Chinese no name tpa3255 amplifier.

My board is under stress test at 40volt .... with opa1656 before integration ....
Really pleasantly surprised This small card and easy to integrate perfect for multi-channel, for ordinary use the NE5534 is sufficient, it's a great deal!
The consateur damaged on the photo is a power supply capacitor.
for me the problem is elsewhere!

Hello everybody,
I have my TPA3255, it is connected with SMSP 36VDV 400W. I tested quickly with OPA1612 OP and I did not like. I changed to the ADA4898 which I find excellent. Next step I change the 2 Nichicon condos for a higher series, I will buy 50vdc because my SMPS does not exceed 40vdc.
This is my 3rd TPA325X, it sounds for my taste. I have several other amps, at the moment it's replacing a class AB on my main chain.

Nice!
The TPA sounds better than ANY Kenwood out there...
Did the highs of the 1612 annoyed you?

Yes...lol

Not at all, it's rather the opposite, the 1612 lacks ventilation and openness in the mids and highs. I also have a 1632, great in the midrange and highs but it doesn't have the bass power of the 1612.
The OPA1656 would be a better choice. With the ADA4898, I find the sound well balanced and very musical.
Hi amigos,
I have tested tons of OP amps with the TPA3255, I noticed that FET-input OP amps work better with this amplifier. I particulary do love the 1656 and Muse02 (this one is particulary expansive). I found the 1612 too linear and less "lively" than the OPA1656 and Muse 02. I will give test with the OPA1692 to compare.

Hi Daniboun, I am waiting for this card to arrive, I already have two modules with double OPA627 Jfet, have you tested these too? Thank you
I recall fet opamps performed better with the tpa's when adding external, post filter, feedback, they seemed more immune to classD switching noise. That doesn't mean people will like the sound better, just that thd performance with fet opamps was better.

I agree ) It is also a question of taste that s true. according to the feedback the OPA1656 seem to be suitable for the majority of users

Hummm yes I tested it and did not like... I found them very "colorful" compared to the 1656. But you should like it )
Hi,
I have started listening to several types of music, I will get back to you with a little review. For now I can safely say that this amplifier is very good.
I will place an order for the 2 capacitors.

@vince:
Stuart is right, that was also what I was trying to tell. Change that main cap and pray. TPA3255 is a hell of an amp, don't give up. Come on where is your American spirit? Remember 1980 Olympic hockey finals... 😉

1st of all: my main speakers are floor standing Focal Electra - should I ask someone to insure the cost of these guys for any amp's failure?
2nd: I removed "gold" capacitors and took a picture with original Nichicon caps that I bought on Mouser.
3rd: same for the opamps
4th: seems like TPA3255 IC soldered by hands and not so good. White substance feels like caulk!
Please dont hesitate to guess, which opamps are original 🙂

Hi,
Thanks for sharing pictures.
It is obvious that the welds are done manually ... Regarding the thermal paste, it seems a bit messy (I imagine, however, that having disassembled the heatsink must have spread it).
Did you give a try with the new caps finally ?
I suppose if you unsoldered the Nichicon FW from the buffer it is because you had a doubt about their authenticity? And the same goes for the OP amps since you seem to replace them with the same 5532 ...
keep us informed when you have tested the module with the new assembled components to know if there is any better?
