Hi guys, do you think this kind of wiring is possible?
Thank you, Gaetano.
Yes, its valid. Just keep the connector's jumper wires short.
Hi,
I would like to use the reflektor to power an usbridge sig. The measured current is 750mA@5v Is it possible To use reflektor for this? Maybe with A bigger heat sink?
I would also add a UcConditioner of Ian.
J1 is delivered in the complete package with something written on the tag. Am I right in assuming the writing is the IDSS value? So 5.0mA and 5.4mA in attached picture?

Yes it can do more mA. Matter of CCS setting & sinking. Set 850mA CCS for that app.
I would think so too. Circa 5mA is tell tale GR.

I have also got some SSL V1.1 power supplies. How does this compare with the reflektor regarding noise?

That’s my handwriting with a sharpie.
The idss values you mentioned are correct
Thanks!

Both are low noise. Reflektor is even lower noise at frequencies near DC due to its big Vref filter capacitor.
General psu question I'm afraid but can I make a bipolar osu from 2 ref ds using 2 Bridge rectifiers but sharing 1 winding? 2 wires.
No, it takes two independent secondaries too. Else the two sections will not be floating to each other like free to combine battery cells.
Independent secondary windings may come out from the same transformer core like 9V+9V etc. two wire + two wire exits.

Good evening all.
I have 4 more Ref D to build for different projects and here I build one for Andrea Mori clock TWTMC PPG. This requires 6v6 at 25ma.
So using 2 red and one green i have a perfect 6.62v after one hour.
Using R=V/I
6.6/0.025 = 264 gives me the value for the test resistor. Nearest I found was 270ohm and I thought 1 watt would be enough after having read this entire thread twice I hioes to have gained some knowledge!
I set the spare current to 100ma over the required 25ma with a 4r7 at R1.
With this set up I get steady and constant Vout and very manageable temps. Barely warm so maybe I shall up the CCS. Maybe lower R1 to 3 or 3.5r.
Input VAC from the 9v Talema is actually 11.2v so I have a nice headroom without too much dissipation. Also the trafonis only 7.5va and it seems to be running quiet and cool.
I say all this here to maybe help others learning how to set up this fabulous power supply. It is a pleasure to get it working to your chosen Vout!

A little update to the above post. Its been on for 3 hours and is rock steady and cool, so I think I can up the CCS safely.
So I paralleled a 12 ohm across the existing 4r7 to give me approx 3r3/ 180ma.Sinks are a little warmer but absolutely fine. I may settle on 3r!
Did some listening to the raw DAC (the whole thingy will have a TVC and pre amp in the same box). Fed with SPDIF from streamer board, playing into 6C33C ampNice sandwich. Let us know how it will play when ready.
Very nice, very nice. I have another Soekris DAC powered by Ultra Bibs, might do A/B testing later. Definitely better than Sabre DAC based I had just before this

Problem!
I took one of my Reflektors today. Been used at 6v6 for Andrea Mori PPG clock with about 4r5 at R1....low CCS.
Today I changed some things about....this reflektor not been used for a few months. Trying Ians 6V6 battery psu on the clock. I wanted this Ref D for 3v3 into Ians FifoPi clean side. Changed to green/jumper/62R for 3v3....and all is dead. No led lit. Output seems to be 2.5v regardless of led population. Nothing gets hot.
How to fault find herein please Nick?..sorry to be a burden.
