The record player "Alamo" from Moth is a good known record player (nearly identical to Rega Planar and NAD's 533.
But I have an other model from Moth. Typ: "Kanoot" Unfortunately there isn't similar type from other companies.
The actually device in correct working condition has on problem: the motor pulley's sizes (for belt) is made for the British marked (mains frequency 60 Hz instead 50 Hz).
Therefore in Germany the RPM value isn't right.
Where I get such motor pulley for 50 Hz (to replace the exist 60 Hz version)?
Motor model is follow: SAJA MURTEN UDR11UJ1RNZ32 (SWITZERLAND) - go to second image from post #13, also used in Revolver turntables and some other.
I have now realized another solution to avoid having to laboriously remove the 60Hz pulley and replace it with a 50Hz version.
I remove the capacitors at the motor and introduce this motor control unit (clone from Dr. Fuß) - often incorrectly referred to as a power supply :
Homebrew Motor Control Linn LP12 - Circuit Description wanted for Sine Wave Osc.
To the resistors R28 and R27 I add a 27K resistor in parallel (have a look in the PDF schematic of post #16).
This works perfect together with the 60Hz pulley. The target speed is now (only at 33) a bit right of the middle position of the speed controller knob.
The old address from Moth is follow:
Moth Group
Tel: 01234 741152
10, Dane Lane, Wilstead, Bedford, Bedfordshire MK45 3HT

hi
in the UK the mains frequency is 50 Hz, so a standard UK pulley would be fine and i suspect easier to get hold of.
there are as an alternative a DC motor conversion kit that may fit, and be of interest

The pulley parameters are dependent of follow:
A. diameters: both from the mains frequency and the outside diameter (belt circulation aera) for the turntable platter
B: groove wide: both from the kind of belt (round/square/flat) and the material diameter
What is a standard UK pulley for you ??
Thank you for your explanation.
If I realize an alternative with DC motor conversion kit I must destroy the presently motor (no screw mounted pulley) and must press this pulley to the new DC motor.
If I get a 50 Hz pulley (the present pulley is definitely for 60Hz - speed control led me note this to slow speed) I would fix resp. clamp and stick on top of the old pulley - the easiest solution.
BTW: In post #1 I have written
"the motor pulley's sizes (for belt) is made for the british marked (mains frequency 60 Hz instead 50 Hz)."
but I mean
"the motor pulley's sizes (for belt) is made for the United States marked (mains frequency 60 Hz instead 50 Hz)."

This link isn't helpful. By Moth I read follow:hi
look here, im sure they have the pulley already fitted
http://www.turntable-power-supply.com/list-of-decks.htm
Same as Rega - see Rega notes
This isn't right. Moth have produced three different models. Only concerning the model "Alamo" the claim "Same as Rega" is right.
But here we talk about an other model, namely "Kanoot" and not "Alamo".

Unknown record player from "Moth Group"
Who knows the model naming of the turntable from the attachment?
This model was above the "ALAMO" and "KANOOTH"

Original Version: 'The Oak' turntable
Now I have find more information: about
The Oak Turntable
I read follow by post #8:
'The Oak' turntable dates from 1983 and was designed by Steve Williams (who also worked at Guildford Hi-Fi)and John Young from Oak Audio Ltd,it was eventually distributed through Mike Harris of Moth Marketing.
And additional URLs:

Review | Moth Marketing, 47 Armstrong Close, Wilstead, Bedford have modified their Oak turntable since its launch in January 1983. It is now in a black, grey and red styling with a multi-layer Medite fibreboard plinth supporting the main bearing, ton.
Acoustic Imagery Pre Amp/D400M (3594/2394 each) - Pre/power amplifiers
Mike Harris (michael.harris4@btconnect.com) send me a reply to my question about the model naming:
"That is a Moth Alamo, the later 'Split plinth' version complete with an OEM
Rega 300 tonearm"
He say's additional, that there are no service manual available, because this product is older than ten years.
Perhaps one of the members can post a service manual of this record player model.

There is the same sizes from the red belt on the model "Super OAK" from Moth. Where is this belt available ?
Some images, that I have found online in the attachment.

any details from this model:I am looking for a belt drive for the Oak turntable resp.Moth Kanooth.
Where I can order it ?
Best thanks for an advice.
The Oak Turntable - 2 Channel - HiFi WigWam
from
support@britishaudio.co.uk
I receive follow information yesterday:
We do hold stock of suitable belts, cost of 22.00 GBP plus shipping 4.50 GBP.
Order via Paypal, our account reference ‘support@britishaudio.co.uk’
Is a round belt that runs around the outside of a 12” platter

The motor pulley is definitely made for 60Hz (which countries uses this mains frequency ?).
Now I have realized a good solution - go to post #1.
Picture two says "60 Hz" on the label - rest is hidden by the clamp.
Count the number of poles to be sure for speed or remove the clamp.

I am looking for a belt drive but only this supplier I have found:
1) support@britishaudio.co.uk (belt not listed on the website - unfortunately the compliance or Ø is too high)
2) Moth Kanoot turntable belt (very expensive)
Are there other suppliers ? Who know the exact parameters concerning thickness, compliance and Ø ??
Thank you very much for an information.
The speed wasn't only determine by the frequency value from the motor, but from the frequency value from the sine wave oscillator. Otherwise a speed control by variable oscillator frequency wasn't possible.

It doesn't matter at this record player model, whether the label of the motor says 50Hz or 60Hz, as many 50Hz versions for the German marked use 60Hz motors. The decisive factor is the diameter of the motor pulley, wich are different for German marked and u.s. marked.Picture two says "60 Hz" on the label - rest is hidden by the clamp.

Hello!
This is my first massage here, I believe.
Recently I've bought Moth Super Oak that looks exactly like tt on these pictures. Even redline belt is there. )) Don't know how to attach the pictures.
If you still need it, I can measure diameter/thickness and length/diameter.
I'm looking for spare belt too, although mine one is in good condition.

Yes, thank you very much in advance.
Check post #14 the ordering address.

A 60 Hz motor used with a lower frequency is less efficient. It is the
same as with a mains transformer. I can not recommend using a
dedicated 60 Hz motor at 50 Hz.
However I have heard that the pulley size determines platter speed ..
When using a variable generator for the drive and speed switching,
it should be designed for frequencies of 60 Hz and higher.
