Youd have to have it custom wound, which probably doesn't save you a while lot in all honesty
Yup. I got quote from TOROIDY.PL:
Audio grade: 47,80 EUR/pc
Audio Supreme version: 94,60 EUR/pc
Shipping to US: 47,00 EUR
If anyone in US wants to save on shipping - let me know - we can try to combine orders 😉

Swiftheat & Control is open for business again, though at a lower capacity due to the current regulations here. I have spoken to the sales person (Jan Senekal) and he says they do export to wherever requested, but they ask the client to arrange with a courier of their own choice to collect and deliver. I have weighed the trafo that I had made and it is 1250 grammes. However, mine is over-specced and is thus heavier than specced as per Oliver. The dimensions are 90 mm diameter and 50 mm high. I paid (in SA Rands) R460 but that included delivery to me. You are welcome to send Mr Senekal an e-mail at jan.at.switheat.com and he will provide a quote to your specification. The box to ship the trafo in will probably be 120 mm x 120 mm x 100 mm as there will be bubble wrap as well. Total weight should not be more than 1.8 kg. I hope this info helps. The other option is of course the R-core, which I got from this seller along1986090 on eBay and was quite quick to arrive.
Regards, Kevin
Hi ikir and KVP,Hi ikir and KVP,
The company is called Swift Heat & Control. They are based about 75 km from my home town in the South of Johannesburg. I do not know if they export to other countries, but I can ask. I do think the cost of shipping to Europe and elsewhere would probably triple the price. I'll provide feedback.
Kevin

Personally, Nay! But that is because if you want to tweak it by replacing a cap here, a resistor there .....
Kevin
P.S. Of course that would depend on the humidity in your area. That could muck up many things.

I have very much been enjoying listening to my build of this excellent phono-stage; just waiting on a case from Modushop and I can get it properly housed.

Mine will be done soon and that'll be two of us in Lincolnshire 😀
What did you use to clean it?Thanks Kevin!
Board cleaned up as well now. What do you guys think? Conformal coating? Yay or Nay?
Thank you Ferret for follow-up but I went for Audiophonics. It wasn't that expensive after all and customs overhere is always kind of a gamble. Sometimes they let pass a box big and heavy like an amp and sometimes they block a package small as a matchbox...
Kind regards - Koen.
Kind regards - Koen.
Hi Koen,
It is a pleasure. I too would stay with a local supplier if possible - much easier if there's a problem.

Ok, What are your thoughts?I am keep playing with different cartridgs
Those caps are good to 105deg, I wouldnt worry too much.I added heat shield to the one capacitor near V3. Just in case.
If you don't have heat shielding tape, perhaps removing the plastic is an option doing as the shiny aluminium casing will also reflect heat better I think?
