How do you think the LxMini stacks up to the Lx521?
I’m considering building a pair from Madisound for an quick office setup, in which the amount I move around inside of it has not been fruitful for the more directional / sweet spot oriented monitors that many place on either side of their displays.
FYI I have not heard in person either the Lx521 or LxMinis.
The closest I’ve heard to what I am after is the Ohm Walsh.
With that budget and an already existing dedicated listening room as specified by the OP aesthetics would be of no concern to me at all since I would soffit-mount the speakers and make them practically invisible.
For $50K I could build a pair of LX521s for every room in my house (including bathrooms!) and two pair for my basement shop. But like others have commented I am done building speakers as the current Linkwitz Orion 3.3.1 and LXminis are all I need. As to the earlier question I have not heard them side by side but word is the LXmini and LX521 present very similar sonics excepting that the minis don't go as low and won't play as loud. I find tham to be ideal as dual use music and TV speakers in my medium sized (18' x 12') family room.

I have both LXmini and LX521.4, as well as LXmini-Studio.
If you have a smaller room, and want the bass, get the LXmini-Studio. However, if you don't need slamming bass, the LXmini is fine as is.
neilI saw and heard this concert by John McCutcheon, it was free, and he even sang "Christmas In The Trenches." There were about 90 people in a hundred available seats. I arrived early enough to sit in the first row. If there was any "problem" it was a warm April evening so the season wasn't quite right for the song.

Wherever you are in the world, there are always musicians you can hear for cheap for free, and some of them are even quite good and worth hearing. They're just not the ones you hear on pop music radio.
I saw SRV perform at a beer fest, probably less than 200 people under a small circus style event tent....stood maybe 5 feet from him at one point while he played and remember being mesmerized by his hands. All you could drink genny cream ale and a night with SRV for $18.....that’s one I will never forget.

The Musician's worth hearing are not allowed on Mainstream Media these days because they invariably have a message of peace and goodwill to all! The 1970s scene was nothing but peace and goodwill from the Beatles to Pink Floyd and led to the ending of the war in Vietnam.
I would buy myself time off of work so that I could sit and build the speakers I wanted for about $1-2k in parts. And also kit out my workshop with a cnc machine. And maybe buy a new house with space for a workshop to fit it.
