I believe it's time to think what we are doing to the Earth, and how it is returning back the damages we did.
Yes.
It's time industrials and authorities listen to scientists !
No.
It's not about industry, authorities, scientists, politics. It's not about listening. It's not about blablabla.
It's time for EVERYONE to CHANGE what they are doing. Stop using your cars all the time. Stop flying all the time. This kind of stuff. YOUR stuff!
Oh, and don't say you need your car to get to work -- there will be no more work soon if you don't CHANGE NOW. If you don't believe it: just see what YOU did to Australia!
I agree 110% to you. I have no car, no TV, no air conditioner nor heaters at home. When you habituate your body not to need external heating or fresh air, you don't never need it. I walk 1400 meters from the bus stop to home every day.
Osvaldo, I looked up your local climate and although the seasons are reversed it’s quite similar to mine (3-33C) close to the ocean with wet summers.
I don’t see how I could give up the climate controlled interior......one of my neighbors lives with the house open in summer and her stuff is always musty/mildewed, rusty/crusty, smelly......her thing is she’s too cheap to run the ac !
I suppose if you live in a home designed for it like a stone/concrete structure that holds the temps/moisture stable it might not be as bad......but what about the electronics? The Horror! 😀

My house is a 30 years old departament in Barrio garay, San José, Almirante Brown, Buenos Aires. Viewed from air, is like a square ob about 6 meter side. Very cheap, made by a Banco Hipotecario, an institution that make this kind of low cost homes. I owned it about 1999.
Climate here is about 0°C at winter to 38°C at summer.
Here is an old street view pic (2013) covered by a tree, but I have no actual images. You can also find me following the link in the signature.

Wow......that is one dense population!(looking at your sig map)
Fire must be a large concern there?
Fire must be a large concern there?
No, fire isn't a problem there. There are worse problems here: "Politics" are one of them, and still worse, motochorros, something difficult to explain here.
My apologies by the off topic.

Most amusing, try doing the above in Canada
It would seem hard to believe the public outrage following the latest wildfires won't have some consequences for the Australian coal industry. It's not about industry...
The consumption of energy and the destruction of the atmosphere is correlated to overpopulation, but no government dares going there........ China tried with single child policy in 1978, but even they have given up.......

Overpopulation...?? It's scary how official media is distorting minds and programing people, how to think about every topic.
"Africa is overpopulated, so that is the root cause of deaths from hunger." If you force something like that on the news for few years, there will be "experts" everywhere claiming this to be logical and scientific fact and if one don't agree he is marginalized as stupid or "don't have the capacity to look at things in a broad way"... etc.

Most of this is possible (if not easy) everywhere in the world. Even in Canada. I can see how you don't want to spare the heating in cold places, at least in some rooms. You might be used to use cars, TVs or ACs, and you may think these are convenient, but if you're honest you don't need them. No one does.

You obviously have never suffered high heat and humidity, never lived where there is no public transport?
How much time do you spend on a computer or smart phone, could you give those up?

Here humidity oscillate between 20 and 100%. temperature between 0 and 38°C. pressure is most of the time 1000 to 1030 mBar. But if you join together low pressure, high humidity and temperature, this is unlivable. But still so I live it without air conditioner nor heating my house. And as I posted in other thread, I have several appliances of house, powered from sun energy.
There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing. But still so I live it without air conditioner nor heating my house.
P.S. We only have two seasons in Scotland, June and Winter!
I am not saying that I am a good example.
Oh, I have. Hot (India, Oman), cold (Lapland, Yukon), and no public transport (Kirgistan, USA😀) are all things that I have experienced and survived (I have to admit that I cheated with the "no public transport" part as a passenger of private cars). The public transport is great where I live, but its bloody expensive. I don't have a car. I use my bicycle a lot.
Just remember that there were people in all these places 100 years ago. And 1000 years ago. And before that. They survived without all the conveniences we have today!
I waste a lot of my time sitting in front of a computer or smartphone. These things are bad for my dopamine system, but are they so bad in terms of CO2 footprint? I'd think that flying, using cars a lot, and power hungry conveniences like air conditioners are much more of a problem for global warming.

So, you're not aware of the Internet Cloud's dirty secret? 😉I waste a lot of my time sitting in front of a computer or smartphone. These things are bad for my dopamine system, but are they so bad in terms of CO2 footprint?
Today, data centres consume about 2% of electricity worldwide; that could rise to 8% of the global total by 2030.
U.S. data centres consumed 70 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2014, the same amount that 6.4 million American homes used that year.

Weekends at home, in summer, I live like dogs, with the belly on the floor, reading old electronic books.
I can remember as a kid in London and those thick yellow smogs that bunged up the nasal passages with black soot. Buildings built from limestone were black, checkout old movies or newsreels. Pollution is nothing new.
There are too many humans on the planet, why should I reduce my lifestyle in my senior years when a Pandemic is probably the only solution.

Personally I did nothing to Australia, some of the Australians themselves created what has happened and still is happening there. 183 of them to be precise.
It has little to do with climate stuff.
