They won't fit properly into Ian's IV stage, regardless of force. What adapters should I be using or could I just change the pins?

The adapters you have use .025" square posts which do not fit in most round-hole dip sockets.

Good ones are more like: SO8 to DIP8 Adapter | BrownDog 970601

Otherwise, if you have some round-pin type pin headers you might see if that size pin will fit.

I am indeed interested to hear some output trafo. Currently waiting for opa1612 like Seb has.

I suppose when one offsets the costs of IV stage components and decent psu...the trafos make more sense

With Bilseik's pwb, it really makes it easy too. Otherwise I would have had to build a +/15VDC or so PS. If you use tx out, just 3.3V and 5V PS's required.

hello
don´t know if problem has occurred before but need some help
have run ODROID C1+ barebone pc straight into my 4deck dddac with great success
a few weeks ago I aquired a KALI reclocker from France and hooke it up on the ODROID I2S ports and further on the the ddadac and it really improved the sound
then I read about the FifoPi and wanted to try it with Accusilicon crystals..
however whatever I do I cannot get any signal detected by the reclocker
separate 5 vdc supply to J5
I hook up ODROID gnd to J1 39 I2S data to 40, LRCK to 35 and SCK to 12.....no recognition of signal.....on J7 respective pins to DDDAC mother board as with KALI
Is it possible that the FifoPI is not compatible with the I2S ports of the ODROID?
or am I missing something here

I am having a little problem, with my stack, when bypassing OSF.

My stack is Ian's IV board, dual 9038 DAC powered by one 3.3, FIFOpi powered by 3.3 on the clean side and 5v on the dirty side, ess controller, Pi3b (DietPI) and Ian's battery board. I am running it in true sync, with the supplied cable. The only mod I have done to date is to bypass the LDO within the fifopi. I upsample to 352.4khz with HQplayer, 384 doesn't seem to play.

When I disable OSF the following sometimes happens:
1) I play music, no sound, I switch OSF off and then and music plays.
2) After the above, sometimes the VC still works
3) After #1, sometimes the soundstage skews to the right

If I repeat step 1, I usually get it to play and its an improvement over OSF enabled. However, if I change the song I am required to repeat step 1.

I have also noticed, I get no sound for 6 seconds when starting to play music and loose the final 6 seconds of a track.

Has anyone else had these issues?

#3 eBay 600:10K audio transformer

I bought this pair of 600:10K transformers off eBay. They are not expensive but look pretty decent. I didn’t expect too much from them. However the real listening test did give me some surprise. They have all the sound signature of a typical transformer I/v stage. Nature, analog, peaceful and without any additional flavor. I would stack with them if didn’t experience the other two. I ran them at my LL1544A transformer I/V PCB with same schematic and same configuration. The only thing is that the footprints don’t fit very well. If I have chance to design the transformer I/V II PCB I’d like to make it compatible with them.

If you have never tried the transformer I/V, I would highly recommend this one as starting point.

Ian

Ian, have you just bent their legs or elongated as well.

Ernst that was pretty much what I was going to ask so I too am interested.
Once the next GB is in action and I buy a figo and other parts I shall commit my streamer build to a case.

I am struggling for space in the one I have proposed and so I am considering the output transformer IV stage as it will take away the need for a dual rail psu.

Does the trafo IV take all its power from the DAC underneath?

I power my Ian dual mono with 3x 3v3.
