dear friend's:
i need a protection for my out put transistor and driver's in apex ax17 or any power amplifier that when out put be short circuit or low impedance this protection save my amplifier...all of your protection is speaker protection but i need over load out put protection
can i use a fuse for out put?
plz help me
mr mile what your idea abut this problem?
in your protection "pro" how work? its can safe power transistor ?

Use PSU100 (FX100 PSU)

Maplin used to have a fuse on the output of their 225WRMS disco amplifier.
I was doing a gig one night and tripped over the speaker lead yanking it out.
Luckily just the fuse blew and I replaced it and carried on.
Apex A14 Layout
Here is APEX A14 Layout files for DIY, it needs PSU60 for supplay OPAMP, VAS&Diamond Buffer and 2xEmitter Follower.

Hello, does anyone have the PDF for thermal transfer of this circuit?
Just trying out with sprint layout.
if you need it, i can post pdf of my version..

Thanks Prasi, yes, I need the PDF, its version is ok for me. I will enjoy and redo previous question: Can this ON / OFF circuit be used together with soft start? Because I do not want to directly connect the 220v voltage on the amplifier on / off.

What needs to be changed for 120V operation?

my guess is that this circuit is a simple switch which enables low power signal switches to be used for switching on power of amp. So output ac from this should go the softstart circuit and then on to the power transformer.
attached is the pdf... i have mirrored both the silk and copper bottom layers as compared to layout posted above. Let me know if anything different is required.
regards
Prasi
P.S. request some check the layout once for errors...I am a novice with sprint.
Also attaching sprint file.

Circuit will work with 120V without changes

You MUST use a switch suitable for main supply, 220 or 120V because this circuit connected direct to the main without isolation!
Do not use any small signal switch!
Take care keepping all the main protection rules.
DANGER!

Thank Mr Mile and Prasi. Mr Mile, is this ON / OFF circuit safer because the relay is powered by 12v ac? and what kind of switch can I use on this circuit? I intend to install ON / OFF together with Soft Start inside a pad / case for safety. Is the PDF version for thermal transfer possible?
This is safer version because it uses mains transformer that convert 220VAC to 12VAC, so the circuit is isulated of shoch hazard. See in layout that mile posted 12VAC in his layout. Relay in bith versions works with 12VDC voltage and switching is in both version 220VAC/16A relay.
Yes!Safe version
You will spend for one small size transformer but you will save your life... 😉

Please explain the purpose of this circuit and why a simple 12vdc transformer, relay and a switch wouldn't do the same thing.
