Are all those kids off your front lawn yet? 😀
Yeah, much of the recent Nova, Nat Geo and Discovery programming has come off as recruiting films - not necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes very poorly researched.
The BBC Blue Planet documentary series - some footage of which have been on IMAX screen locally- continue to astound me. The preparation and patience required to capture those images is humbling.

streamed on Netflix it blows my mind, I can’t imagine what it’d be like in imax!
Upgraded my Netflix a few months back to the 4K resolution, and while most program material is upscaled by the Vizio TV - and it’s not quite the same - but the few in native hi-res make the extra few bucks a month worth every penny.
As for the Imax, my vision has deteriorated to the point that the latest prescription can’t eliminate fuzzy artifacts when watching 3D spectaculars, so I’ve not been for at least a year.

yeah... in my case, cataracts suck... lots of starry nites driving down the interstate.. used to like night driving but not so much anymore... especially when it's raining with oncoming traffic

"Stormy Weather" 1943 -- Lena Horne, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway etc. Wonderful!

"But what is the Fourier Transform? A visual introduction." by 3Blue1Brown on YouTube. Excellent graphics for visual learning.
On TV I watch mostly Nazi Megastructures, reruns of Mythbusters and Grantchester, a British lightweighted criminal series.
On Youtube I follow Bob The Science Guy, DeadKennedysInSpace, Professor Stick and SciManDan defending the Globe Earth against the flattards or flerfs or flatearthers ignorant and illiterate attacks.

@Nigel: And no batteries in the remote control?!
lol, on the PC as usual.
I tend to watch TV on my pc.
I find the TV good for putting me to sleep, I put the news channel on and I am with the fairies 10 minutes later.
I have the usual set of PLAY-channels but on Swedish national TV, there are a lot more on the web-based SVTplay.se and I sometimes hook up Mrs K's laptop to our TV to watch some shows.
But mostly documentaries. Films simply bore me.

Ryan George on You Tube, am most particularly snortling over the Pitch Meeting series. Super easy to watch, barely an inconvenience at all - other than draining the battery on my iPad.
