these things have been available in Germany for about 2 weeks now. As far as I know the press already received a few so
independent measurements should be available soon.
Hope so. I am wondering if the 6" cone can be run with no LP filter and only a cap on the tweeter. That would be my long lasting dream...
I finally received mine. Here is a few photos. Unfortunately I don't have time to take measurements now.
Interesting sticker (W5-2143) and interesting spider.
Build quality seems very high.
The tweeter is concave and has a surround that looks similar to the woofer surround.

I would be really interested to see some measurements from an end user.... Please let us know what you think!
Was looking around for a good coaxial unit to pair with a woofer for a compact system. Was trying to find some KEF SP1632s but they are unobtainium.
These however might be as good. Glad to see that they are available in NA now. No distributors in Canada but PE is a good source.
How are you going to use them Onni?
Cheers
Matt

Thanks for sharing the pics.
I used the think that metal ring around the tweeter is fixed. But close look at the pics suggests it is moving with the woofer cone. Am I right?

Still I am wondering how it would sound with just a small cap on the tweeter...

One thing is for sure, those drivers are gorgeous. I've always been a fan of the look of the TB drivers, but have never gotten around to buying any due to the cost being somewhat higher than I typically aim for. In this case, though, I may have to pick up a pair of the larger ones and do a 3-way build for them...
Companies that release these sorts of drivers really should provide passive crossover and baffle design suggestions.Or even prebuilt crossovers .
Seems like we are in a golden age of diy speakers and yet fewer published designs and measurements compared to say, 10 years ago...

You two had a look at post #73, just above yours?
Just peruse a couple of posts up... it's not that far...
