Let's say there's a 10% chance that global warming and the effects are real. Wouldn't it be better to be safe than sorry?? The deniers are playing Russian roulette except everbodys head is at the end of the gun. And there main reason is greed.
Al Gore Has been making a LOT of $ out of this. Plus, as has been stated, he bought an Expensive property close to the sea. LOL
Whoever posted about London sinking (will get rid of the smell), but 'the kingdom' dont end till it gets to Lands End....
The problem is that the rock under the ground is like memory metal and the high bits got pushed down by the weight of ice during the last ice age and it is slowly "forgetting" and the bits that had ice on them are rising over a long period of time and the low bits with modern hard concrete cities on them are sinking by the same amount. This is indeed becoming a problem for obvious reasons.
Sea levels are rising globally, not just where humans have poured concrete.

Hmm..near as I can find, it's a mile from the ocean. And, 500 feet above sea level. But that information is...."an inconvenient truth"..

Anyway, any serious scientist knows that the entire universe is in my front pouch and whenever I touch it a massive cataclysm occurs and millions of people die.

You are checking facts? You creep ;-)
But what shines through the pages here is the incredible shortsightedness of us humans. 'Bought a beachfront property' why not? We're talking about effects that take many decades, not something that is around the corner.
My country, The Netherlands, is perhaps more accustomed to long-term thinking in this area. We just set up a 50 year plan to increase our protection against rising sea levels. Don't want to be caught with our pants on the ankles.
It is expensive, but we make a lot of money by offering similar protection projects to, ohh, New Orleans, New York, some regularly-flooded country in the Far East, a few others.

Isn't there an area in the east of England called Holland? Has that anything to do with you?
We left traces everywhere. There's several cities in the US called 'Holland', wouldn't be surprised the same happened in UK, although I never saw it.
Edit: South Holland, Lincolnshire - Wikipedia - that you mean?
Jan
I think it must be, just remember seeing Holland on a map years ago, the area is pretty low lying, some of it below sea level. Just wondered why it was called Holland
More info here Parts of Holland - Wikipedia interestingly the derivation of the name is different but the landscape is similar

Global warming movement isn't? 🙄Btw, reading this, is it really anything but a political statement ?
Didn't you bother to read this thread from the beginning? If not, I suggest you do. Many sources have been referenced.Source ?

You know the rules, abide by them or I'll get impatient.
There's a few of you who know what happens when I get impatient. The rest of you will be happier not knowing.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Still referencing that John Cook's propaganda site?19 "Al Gore got it wrong"
Al Gore's book is quite accurate, and far more accurate than contrarian books.
Is Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth accurate?

Thanks, and apologies, respectively, Cal.
Thanks for those who appreciate the work the Mods do around here, but to those who don't...
...there's a dark alley just around the corner. I'll be there at 10 tonight.
Know what? This post breaks the discussion of Moderator actions rule so it will self destruct in 5 seconds.

That's not the point. You just can't drop graphs and walls of text without referencing their origin.
I've read some sources you've referenced. Sorry, but I've yet to find one I'm willing to trust. I've little appetite for conspiracy theories and broad claims that all government agencies aren't to be trusted.
Taking Bob Tisdale you seem to quote quite often, you might want to read this: Bob Tisdale tries to hide the massive warming | HotWhopper or this: Bob Tisdale's trick of hiding the data, revisited | HotWhopper
Considering it's a fairly non-controversial, cross party issues in most countries in the world, no, I wouldn't say it's a political position.Global warming movement isn't?

Trying to set a forum record for not attacking substance and resorting to ad hominem in one thread?
You asked for source when I posted about the global warming predictions popped up 12- 16 years ago (some are older) turned out to be false. Sources have been cited numerous times on this thread from the beginning, literally. Read again if you haven't seen them. That's not the point. You just can't drop graphs and walls of text without referencing their origin.

Take a look at all the unaltered temperature measurements spanning to "mini ice age" or before and you will learn that the hockey stick graph is wrong. Take a look at all the unaltered temperature records compared to CO2 records, their shapes don't agree with what the global warming alarmists have been inciting.
