Here are some triode mode curves
I'm throwing them all out.
You could use them as the pass element in a tube based regulator.
-bias setting for 509 ?The circuit is inspired by the Synola 509 design and uses screen-driven PL519 (40KG6A) with fixed bias on g1.
Throwing out a request for advice. Attached are some pictures of the biggest $1 tubes I have acquired.
From left to right:
"super 6BG6GA" (not $1!)
GE 19BG6GA
Raytheon 19BG6GA
21EX6
36LW6
I was wondering if you knew or had tested or had a guess at which could work in triode service for decent power, i.e. which ones might work at above the rated screen maximum voltage if triode strapped.
I'll quote you their published screen ratings to save you time.
19BG6GA: 350V, 3.2W
21EX6: 195V, 3.5W
36LW6: 280V, 7.0W

care to share where you got the 36LW6 for 1$ from? i want those... thanks..
Oh, I've had those a while, I doubt you could find those for $1 today.

There is a thread using the 36Lw6 as a triode at 300 volts for 72 watts; hard to imagine 72 watts from only 300 volts

Not really. He's using 320V @ 120mA; that's 38.4W per 36LW6, so getting 75W from each PP pair isn't that hard to imagine....hard to imagine 72 watts from only 300 volts
