I use a double-Pi network on the tube amps I design and get hum and noise down to below 10mV on the centre-tap on the output transformer, then add another solid state inductor = 100H (OK, that is calculated, but whatever is, it is a lot) and get down to uV level. Can you hear it? You bet!
I believe it.

BTW --- There are some solvable issues... minor... but headphones definitely don't have any room influence on the sound. About as near-field as you can get. Try my headphone amplifier in Linear Audio.
I agree. Headphones keep you away from room acoustic interaction issues.
No need to turn music listening through loudspeakers into a confinement act (space wise, social wise) 🙂
George
Not to mention that most domestic environments require some compromise with other dwellers. Speakers and room treatment rarely can go in the best location. And not everyone wants a room full of modern art looking diffusers and absorbers taking over.
I pity the poor soul who ends up with me in this regard. 😀

By 'attitude' I mean the gang/gun/drug culture/violence etc inherent in the hip hop world.
IMO Steve Albini has a healthy attitude, including his no respect for the 'pop music industry' which has always been run by 'gangsters in suits'....now it's real gangsters.
Dan.
There is always this 'interesting' take on modern music's downward spiral that has been kicking around for a few years now:

Terry.
Two sofa: absorption.
few hundred books and 1500 LPs diffusion
Fireplace: no idea what you model that as.
The room is fairly dead though.

Luckily I have no issues with room placement at home. My wife loves music too, so even the large-ish speakers aren't a problem. Not even in the bedroom. 🙂
On that score I am a lucky devil. I have a stereo in almost every room including the garage. Even our bathroom has a set of in-walls. So does the kitchen.

The bathroom is the one area missing a stereo, but as it's an old house and the bathroom is off the kitchen which does have a system in it we are ok.
We use the central HiFi system....
You can hear the lounge system fine from anywhere, if you up the volume...

Good call Chris.
I too got lucky, I knew so when I learned the woman I'm dating has more CDs than I do.
She wants to come to my place and spend a night listening and drinking wine. A perfect date.
More incentive to continue to improve the stereo. 🙂

I would be concerned about the type of music rather than the quantity. My wife has only 2 dozen CD's which is good because they're all Vietnamese. 🙂I learned the woman I'm dating has more CDs than I do.

What’s wrong with you guys! Don’t you sing in the bathroom?
George
I was going to ask George how broadly we're defining "singing" before I confirmed or denied it. 😀

When I was 16 my mother wanted me to participate in more high school activities so I tried out for chorus. The director told me to go practice in the shower.
For anyone wanting to play around with AC filters like the "Felicia" style etc, and wanting a nice box for your project, my GB# 3 is going for the Fo-Felix but there's an enclosure GB included too.

Do you have any filter freq vs atten response data/plots?

Inspiration for George and other omni fans... 🙂

Show us the most beautiful speakers you've ever seen... I'll start
Find it quite intriguing with its combination of omni and close proximity placement of these speakers on each side of the listening position, spacious airy earphone effect? Got to try it out some day.

When I was 16, I took a typing class and had to take a cold shower. I was the only boy in the class.
