Sure, CAT5 works well. I personally like the Cat5 with PTFE dielectric, you can often find surplus of it on places like ApexJr or ebay
Anything except a pure electrostatic. (which would require a specialized amplifier)
Stax electrostats with the transformer are fine.
One of the design goals was to be able to effortlessly drive any headphone -- which it does with style, ease, and grace.

I am also interested in this project.
The FQP is much cheaper than IRF. Don't know how to make a decision. Is there any audible between them? Or which one work more stable?

just buy what's easier
difference , if any , can be just marginal and strictly in taste department

My build so far 🙂
Loving this build so far, PSU tests 100%, ordered the Red Hammond case ok 😀
Thanks 6L6 and Wayne 😎

Which Opamp are you using?
I can't decide and its hard to find DIP8 Opamps
You can get OPA2604 from Schuro (DIY-audio4you) here: Dual FET-Input OPA2604 AP Low Distortion Burr Brown TI Audio OpAmp DIP-8 850005 | eBay

Ernst, thank you very much for the pcb.
Received it yesterday.
Hi,
Anyone tried a Burr-Brown OPA2134PA rather than the LM833?
Mark
I found some OPA2134 and will see if they work in the circuit.
Have some opa1612 lying around... think I'll try one of them when I've build mine...I found some OPA2134 and will see if they work in the circuit.
