Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

mini wireless router for Pi/Moode standalone

I'll be attending Burning Amp in San Francisco weekend after next, and I want to take my RPi2-Boss DAC running Moode as a source, music is internal on a large, expanded microSD. Is there a compact usb wireless router that people have used that would make the whole thing more self-contained? I have a standard Linksys that would work, but tidier would be nice. All of this is for the interface, of course.

Thanks,

Hi @Steadman5,

More details about how you have implemented cover art in your collection are required in order to troubleshoot.

1) Where or how did you obtain the cover art images?
1) Where are the cover art images stored?
2) What format are the song files (FLAC, MP3, etc)?

Hi Tim,
When I converted my CDs to FLAC files I used Exact Audio Copy; I believe that is the source of the cover art. Up to now I had used Foobar 2000 to play those FLAC files fed from an external SSD via eSATA to a Windows 8.1 computer, and the album art was pretty accurate. It is the same source I am using now through ethernet to the Pi. Thank you for your help. If you need more info just let me know.

By the way, I am somewhat stunned with the increase in SQ just by adding the Pi and Moode run through ethernet. Good work!

It's possible. I'm concerned that without a router function somewhere, no IP would be assigned to the RPi and the control device (phone/tablet) could not communicate via the web interface. I could well be wrong here.

Thanks,

Hi,Skip,

AP mode will assign an IP to the Pi and to any clients you connect to. This is a tried and true solution. You can test it at home simply by deleting your wifi credentials in configure>network and unplugging Ethernet, if you use that.

The IP address of Moode will be the address shown as your gateway on your wifi connection.

AP mode essentially turns your Pi into a router, with all the normal networking functions like dhcp, dns, etc.

Hi @Steadman5

Choose one of your albums thats not displaying correct cover art in moOde and ZIP the entire folder including all the songs and any cover art files contained in the folder and send me a download link.

I'll be happy to try and repro the issue 🙂

Sorry Tim, it turns out that it is my control point software on my cell, MuPeace, that is causing most of the problem by showing the Moondance cover for all selections in my music folder. Moode is operating normally except for 16 individual songs I received as a sampler from HD Tracks. Those are all showing Moondance as album cover art. Let me know please if you still want any files.

Question...let’s say you move the MoOde player from a WiFi environment in which it is fully credentialed to a new one. How do you access the interface to change or log on?

Not sure about moode but volumio (pretty sure moode will do the same) will enable the wifi hotspot if the wifi connection is lost. You can use the hotspot to reconfigure your wifi.

Otherwise you can connect to a lan to make the config. changes.
