TPA3116D2 Amp

I don't want to spam this, but can someone please answer me?
I was just wondering which board is the reccomended one to use that has a 50wx2 100wsub configuration.

If the 3116 chip is not the way can someone reccomend me some other inexpensive, non parts express(I live in Italy) option?

TPA3116 Dual Channels stereo 50W*2 Digital power amplifier board / PBTL 100w Mono High power amplifier Module-in Amplifier from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group - SANWU
TPA3116 digital power amplifier board two channel stereo 2X50W-in Amplifier from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group - new SANWU design
New TPA3116 DC12V 50W+50W Dual Channel Audio Speaker Digital Amplifier Board-in Amplifier from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group - another board mentioned to be good by Lo_sTe

as far as I understood, board w\o volume control should be controlled by pre-amp (I'm going to use Bluetooth 4.1 Stereo Bluetooth Receiver Plate Bluetooth Power Amplifier Board Free Shipping 12002472-in Amplifier from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group BT bridge in parallel to 3.5 jack) or music source in general (like soundcards with headph. pre-amp).

BTW it would be good to have kind of 'Header' in this thread to refer current context picks.

Considering money I would test this woofer amp (+PS!) or reconsider_what_and_why I'm doing.
This range of amp's isnt for great quality or big room - its for reasonable quality \ comfort @ low price. There are 3116 amp's with sub's line (add 2.1 in search) or another schemas. But if I would look for best quality for price I would start with good power for 3116 (7498?), then - stereo drivers. That's my only opinion.

Sorry to post 2, but TPA3116/18 is the same with very minor diff..

Hi ,

our TPA3116/18 standalone amp is ready.
http://www.allo.com/marketing/brochu...s-brochure.pdf

It has all mods incorporated...in adition we have a capacitance multiplier on board that will allow any "crappy" psu to be less than 10mV (since psrr of tpa3118 its mediocre at best)

We are looking for 5(10) people to try "free of charge" the amp , provided that you are very active on diy forums and you can show you have an interest in tpa3116/18 amps

We only request unbiased review on SQ of our amp.

Hi, just for curiosity, how many volts do you loose on the capacitance multiplier and is it fast enough to kill noise coming from a SMPS?

I'd love to try one. In fact, if no more trial ones are available, I'd consider buying one. I do wish the RCA's were on the back however. Actually, I wish there were just screw terminals for the inputs since I always locate my own RCA's on a back panel. Or, one of those white, three prong jacks to accomodate an an input wire like many other amps have would be OK.

Wish you luck with the board and the business venture!

Hi, I’m waiting for the TPA3116 boards I’ve ordered, and in the meantime I would like to ask some questions (I’ve read many pages of this thread, but not all of them):

1. In all the TPA31xx boards I’ve seen there is a diode in series with the positive power supply; is it just for protection against reverse polarity or does it have some other function? (in the first case it could be removed improving efficiency and power supply stabilization).
2. I heard many people complaining with noise and hiss; has anybody noticed an improvement if the TPA31xx input is directly driven by a low impedance source as an opamp?
Moreover, in case of two (or more) chips powered by the same power supply, does this noise decrease if the chips are synchronized?
3. The same kind of board seems to produce a loud on/off pop or no pop at all, depending on the particular user, so it seems to be caused by factors that are external to the board itself; has anybody noticed a change in the pop intensity, for example, changing the power supply or adding capacitors to the supply rail?
4. I would like to change the electrolytics of the boards (when they will arrive) with Panasonic FM (I think they sound good, maybe because their high ripple current); does anybody know a reliable ebay seller for them?
5. My final goal is to build a stereo amplifier, adding to the TPA31xx board(s) an active preamplifier without tone controls, but with an on/off controlled loudness; can anybody supply a schematic of such a loudness filter?

Thanks in advance

The diode is for reverse polarity protection only. I would replace it with a jumper as you always get 0.5v drop under no load (semiconductor physics) and up to 1v drop with several amps.

I haven't seen issues with driving the input. Noise and hiss are a function of the board's design.

Multiple chips on the same board need to be synchronized. Multiple boards in the same chassis also need to be synchronized. There's some boards with two chips not synchronized and that introduces significant noise. They subsequently modified by the user into master/slave configuration where one chip's high freq. oscillator drives the 2nd chip. The chip is designed for this and it eliminates the noise from this issue.

Actually, removing all the PS caps eliminated the turn-off pop on my board when I tested that configuration. I use the standby switch on my board and there's no turn-on or off pop. Every board is different and every user powers their boards in a variety of ways. Some boards are designed with anti-pop, others have connectors for mute that can be used for a custom pop suppression circuit.

Loudness control circuit, ever heard of "google" :)

I am still completely uncertain about which version of the 3116 to get. I am now thinking of doing 2 projects since these are so cheap. Is there a bluetooth version that does not have noise issues?
