Hi Mlipovac, sorry - missed your post.
I will post the jFET version with +/-40V rails soon.
Cheers,
Valery
OK, here we go.
jFETs = 2SK117
R6, R11 = 22K
R5, R10 =360R
Referring to schematic in Post #773
why r4, r5 unbalanced r6, r7 sir vzaichenkoHi, attached are the schematics and the silk screens of the latest versions. I'm running them with +/-52V rails. D8 and D9 zeners are removed.
Cheers,
Valery

I'll take a stab at it. Different input capacitance of output devices requires different resistance to keep r/c the same.

Thank you Evan, yes - that's exactly the case. Different Ciss of n- and p-channel laterals.
thank you jwilhelmIt looks like you don't have pd+ and nd- connected.
I connected pd+ and nd-
thank you very muchJef ask you about these connections
I lack this circuit lines GND are not connected

yes i also think like youI don't think the wires to the output transistors is a good idea.
but I'm running test mode should not be the best possible
🙂
I have experiences with clones of Firstwatt F5 and J2 and wonder if this hybrid amp would offer potential better sound quality?

Hi Nelson - difficult to compare for me, as I don't have neither F5, nor J2.
But this one is a great-sounding one.
Tested in different environments with different acoustic systems - excellent results.

Hi, even for a test - try to keep those wires, connecting the output transistors, as short as possible. Lateral MOSFETs are sensitive to parasitic capacitances/inductances - local oscillations are possible with the long wires.
Nelson,
I can compare to f5 , f4 and balanced ba3. I like the tubsumo in my system better. Not taking anything away from the pass amps (they are exceptional) I like the class AB...less heat and wasted power. The balanced ba3 was great but was an absolute room heating monster. I say try the tubsumo or one of vzaichenko other great designs. They don't use any hard to find parts and his support is first rate.
HTH,
Evan

Thank your for your feedback, nice to know the support is in place if needed. 😊
F4 is one of my candidates for an amp project.
What do you like better with the tubsumo over the F4?
How does ambience, airiness and dynamics compare?
Anyone compared tubsumo to a first class tube amp?
