If I am not mistaken your drive unit budget is 200 Eur per unit?? Forgive me if this is wrong? In that area for me the Alpair 12p would be my choice they retail in the UK for £240 per pair and have heard they sound wonderful in an open baffle.

hm, that is a "klasse" speaker, great work!! How did you come up with that enclosure & measurements to build it?

Hlj, you are right, budget was 200 euro per unit; after more study, decided to go 2way FAST. It would be perfect to stay in the 600 euro range total for the drivers (and add to that the passive crossover price and enclosure). Alpair 12p looks delicious indeed!

As I say can't comment on OB design, but a friend is using the 12p's as a full range driver in a ml-tqwt and they sound fantastic, top end is well extended with a lovely sweet character! Not at all fatiguing.

What plan did he used? What about the low end, what is your opinion? He used them alone or with a sub?

I believe he is messing with a John Rutter clone spreadsheet. They go low and clean with it, he is aiming to play around with it to squeeze more authority from the cabs though however? I advised him to wait until my cabs are finished using bg20's simmed by mathcad sheets by Scottmoose. looking forward to getting them up and running myself?

Yes, having assisted Jeff in fabrication and assembly his pair, I can attest the full monty SuperPensil for the A12P is not a compact enclosure - but still not as onerous as some of the large Fostex / Nagaoko manifold horns for FE206 /08 etc.

Here's a couple of photos from the assembly of Jeff's Supers that shows our own take on bracing as well as some of the cleats for the removable back panel. I like to use dadoes on the side panels to add some extra glue surface area and joint stiffening.

Not shown is lining of top portion of inside panels with 1/2" ultra-touch and the fibre fill. This was approx 5 yrs ago, so the amount of fill finally settled on has escaped my recollection.

Geez, has it really been 5 years.😱 I haven't changed the polyfil stuffing in all that time. I think the bag had around 560grams in it, divided between the two boxes. I used some dress makers tulle to hold up the polyfil.
