Presenting the Trynergy - a full range tractrix synergy.

Regarding woofer entry point being close to the throat, i have 2 questions.
1. Is it not important that the angle at which opposite entry points 'see' each other is not 0? I mean they should not fire one to another. But if entry points are moved further to the mouth, because of the tractrix expansion, the entry points will not fire one to another, but more directed to the mouth. Is this a valid question?

2. Also, being close to the throat, will there be a pressure applied to the mid cone? Can this pressure influence the mid sound quality? Is this a valid question?

Thanks!

I think that is a valid concern of not wanting woofers to modulate full range mid/tweet. Hence putting woofers closer to mouth helps reduce this - and aiming holes towards the front is something that naturally happens due to woofer being mounted at an expanding horn wall angle - and I think it is a good thing.

And now the next test with a fase plug.🙄

And this woofers I measure a qts of 1.25 this is quite high giving a bumpy respons or I make a open back, or big box behind it, thus sending them back.

Faseplug test done, raw measurement, and I discover when big motor, slit can smaller and extension go further in hf, however making two rings can let it go to 5 Khz. Getting to 20 khz with a cone speaker is a little to positive thinking, but with a K tube it can do, and if high crossover, tube can be small injecting easely in horn.

90x40 , 2" throat : horn with beautifull plan sides 🙂 for port injection !

90 is wider but if your room is 4 to 5 meters width, it should be ok ! XO is 400 Hz, it should allow a XO at around 800... manageable for a fast Trynergy design yet !

In the spirit of what BRYTT showed (near reference : 4525 instead 4528)

http://www.p-audio.co.uk/pdf/PH_4525.pdf,

the 10F is still 6 cm cone + rubber, so need some circular gaskett to adapt to the 2" throat... I'm trying to find toilett gasketts .... or maybe a big plastic funnel for bottle to cut it in the middle for the smooth throat transition.... They are calling the men in white when I walk in the kitchen aera of the supermarkets with my meter to measure the diameter of the funnel and the salad bowl ! Crazy hobby ! I didn't say my last word with foam either !

X,
If only I was as skilled and smart as you !😀

Ok, bi-radiall off topic in an hypex thread... it was more for the full range behavior I linked it in the spirit of what BYRTT linked me above (towards your Bookshelves thread in the MW forum)
Too bad a cheap plastic funnel for a throat lense from round to square shape....🙁

Softs are one thing, theory is an other one, I have more to learn theory than sketching I believe !:cannotbe:.

Well maybe BYRTT will like this horn reference...

I did not use any theory to model my transition adapter in the other thread - aimed for smooth gradual variation in cross section vs distance. Used a two curved spline segments to model the curve and swept it a surface of revolution to create solid model. Transition from dia slightly bigger than surround to throat dia of horn. Took 3 tries (med, short, long) before got it right.

That is very nice - much more manageable now. I was wondering who Erik was, but that is E. Forker, aka Volvotreter. 🙂

Thanks for getting him to make a simplified sheet.

He is very interested in your threats, I have email kontakt with him, and he lives not vary far from me also, He did mention that also.

So we never nows I gonne meet him some day.

It was very nice of him to change that, it is so much more easy.

And I was just beginning to enjoy all the threats that I was making... 🙂

Yes I like to threat.

sorry, always I make that error because it looks almost the same.

it is thread, with the DDD.:wchair:

Erik go also make the outpout in meters and a extra row for the akabak L1 L2 etc
if that is possible. Changing the calculation formulas for example..

so we have a nice way to save time and experiment more.

Hi All and X

I have still work together with Erik to change the program for akabak, almost done, and I have test a piece of the output.

X I presume this is oke?, you are experienced with akabak, I do learn a little now, but it is needed to play with it from time to time, otherwise I forget.

I have use the total cubic meter row in the table for use it, and the table for akabak kan be pasted in akabak in one go, that is far less time consuming, also the sections are automatic calulated, nice to make akabak work more easy.

If you see errors X let me now and explane it also. because L1 was 0,0000 I have remove that making that on the end I get one over, but it is good because everything is in the table.

But look at it and advise me when needed, thanks.

regards

Hoy X

Erik has almost done it, these is for the round horn in free air, and go set also on the rectangle horns.

Just a extra table for akabak. The waveguides however can not be done automatically.

But we have already win a lot time and less change for errors.

Need only to set wall or corner in akabak.

and I can go on.

X can you please check if this is right, using cm2 to meters conversion in akabak table, I now we have to put also in the ; in S1T and S1M table but that is easy.

regards
