CONTROL

Not the best joy division documentary in my opinion, unnecessarily arty, trying to elevate Curtis to some legendary figure. His songs were good, he suffered from depression and subsequently committed suicide. Sadly that happens to thousands of people every year, but they don't make a film about them!

Rant over.

There are better Joy Division documentaries on YouTube.

Thinking of this as a new signature line - any thoughts?

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.
Frank Zappa

Quite whitty, but it implies that any other intelligent life in the universe is as stupid as we are. I'd like to think that, that isn't the case!

If we all lived by this wisdom, then the world would be such a better place!

Yes, but who has the right to decide what's right and what's wrong? /// What if that person was wrong?

♦ I watched 'Furious 7' Special Features last night...just mind boggling...over-the-top...a real Hollywood money machine...in 2015.
The movie industry is the place to be if you want to shine like a star. :wave2:

I'd be putting words in the late bard's mouth, but it might take a couple of galaxy's worth of intelligence to net that sum to zero 😀

maybe just a bit more dyspeptic than usual today

so, maybe I'll go with

"politics is the entertainment branch of industry"

I think it is about removing personal pride from the equation, as so often it gets in the way of whatever one is endeavoring to do.

Even amongst academics and/or scientists, there appears to be a lot of petty squabbling over trying to defend a particular standpoint, even in the face of new evidence to the contrary. I think that this is more often about ego than genuine debate on the matter in hand.

Finished re-watching The Hobbit trilogy, in 3D, last night...for the last three nights.

Better, much better than Furious 7 that I watched prior.
It made $1.5 billion @ the box office! 😱 ... F7.

Happy Autumn. :trapper: :Pawprint: :deer: ...Day after tomorrow, 23rd.

I watched this last ::

I was good, very vibrant in colors. ...Plus Cinderella she's very pretty and peaceful.
I recommend highly...no guns, no violence, no killing, no blood, no nothing drastic like heads rolling down the stairs or tears rolling down the sky...just pure magic with that small touch of human nature reality.

Revisited...in (((3D))) :::

I luv that flick...one of the best with Arnold.
Technically the picture quality is inferior, the sound too. And the 3D effects are quite lame.
But it's the film that counts the most...so we'll have to live with FOX own 3D Blu-ray transfer...no choice. And it's not like they remastered it either, simply reissued it about 22 times...since the VHS and Laserdisc era. This version has severe DNR...it looks plastic like from a soap opera on TV with the reality live Kardashian saga.
It doesn't look like film anymore...but it's old too and had a small budget @ the time I guess. ...Still it's a classic sci-fi. I have an older 2008 Blu-ray version, with the grain still intact...not the best picture quality but @ least the 2D presentation of that older version looks more like film.

I'd like to see 'Everest' @ our local IMAX theater, in 3D. ...Anyone?

Super Harvest Blood Moon total eclipse turned out to be a bit of a bust here on our tip of Vancouver Island - too much hazy clouds over the gulf islands for the first at least hour or so - we gave up our perch at Gordon Bay park, only to read on twitter when we got home that we left about 15min too early. Once it got about an hour and half above the horizon it did put on a bit of a show that we were able to catch from our sheltered back deck.

After watching the lunar eclipse I feel kind of different somehow now...like more in touch with the multiverse...is it also similar for you guys, and gals?
Even the birds today were acting up...like more friendly with each other and with me too.

Could it be a permanent thing? 🙂
