minidsp are an outlier in charging extra to be able to actually use their product. This has nothing to do with you wanting some test results for just you. The miniDSP business case affects everyone other than if a preprogrammed unit comes with your speakers.

Nothing to do with the measurements.

Well, then let me complain about not receiving my original order in over two months... Finally resolved by adding cost and shipping for V2. Did not even get an apology which I normally would get in most cases like these. I even get international calls from Apple when I complain about bugs in their software...

I shipped your Rev. 1.0 boards within an hour of you placing the order. I provided you with the USPS Customs number which showed the boards entering the mail stream and hitting the outbound customs in Los Angeles. The boards got lost in the mail. You know that. I know that.

I agreed to upgrade your boards to Rev. 2.0 if you paid the cost riser of the Rev. 2.0 boards. You actually suggested that deal. I accepted your request. You requested express mail shipping. I complied and charged you what the post office charged me in shipping cost. The Rev. 2.0 boards arrived in a few days. I recall you mentioned the mailman had trouble delivering that letter as well.

Both orders were shipped to the address you provided via Paypal and/or email.

Of the 150-200 orders I've shipped while I've had my business, one (1), O-N-E, order has not shown up at the destination. That order happened to be yours. I'm deeply sorry for the inconvenience you experienced, even if it wasn't my fault. I did everything in my power to ensure prompt delivery. Unfortunately, as I explained to you at the time, once the letter drops into the mailbox, its travel is completely out of my control.

Tom, my view is this kind of business model is flawed. The consumer is responsible to make sure that the business gets the money; once the business receives the patent, it is the businesses responsibility to ensure that the product is received by the customer in the agreed time. If the customer said they sent you money and proves it, and you did not receive the money, are you supposed to find out why or is the customer supposed to find out why, who assumes the risk of lost payment; the same goes for product delivery, who assumes the risk of lost product? If both risks are born by the consumer, then it is not fair.

Just think about the business model, not the individual case.

You are seriously confusing business model with supplier here. When you order you are told of shipping. If you want guaranteed delivery you can pay more for that service. It's the way the mail works.

Tom fulfilled his part of the contract
USPS fulfilled their part of the contract (supplier of service)
your local mail service lost it. (supplier of service)

I don't see a flaw there in the business model other than your local postal service who refuse to acknowledge arrival of the parcel.

But you have been through this before so what is your point other than being a whiny nob end ?

When I was browsing through the miniDSP site, I was under the impression that the software is a one time payment only, then you can download as many times as you want, including upgrades and bug fixes. Seems quite reasonable to me since some cost could occur in the course of bug fixes and enhancement.

There is a thing called Caveat emptor. If you were not aware of the risks of chosing standard postage then that is your learning experience. If you were aware it was up to YOU to request guaranteed delivery or take the risk. Nothing to do with business model.

If you buy an apple phone software updates are free. I will email them and say you are willing to pay extra as you think miniDSP business model is good. Although you don't seem to know what a model is...

The only explanation of the lost shipment I can think of is incorrectly typed address. Has nothing to do with the shipping method. But you argue the point like you were responsible for the shipping. Very weird attitude.

I think consumers are wise enough to know if they are getting the value they pay for.

Personally I buy few apps because lots look like a student's class assignment.

The address that went on the envelope is exactly the address I received from Paypal. I copy-n-pasted it directly from Paypal to stamps.com. There is no manual typing involved.
To prevent packages from shipping to the wrong address, I strongly suggest you keep your shipping address on file with Paypal updated.
