The heavens must not be right if Jay subjects his ears to lowly Logitech PC speakers for a critical listening experience. 🙂

Yes, but, like I said, the clip from round1 sounded better and that they were very similar in tone. After listening with my speaker at home tho, they really sound different, BUT, they are still the closest match 🙂

listening to the brushes on norah, I wonder whether simply comparing a white or pink noise sample would be enough for a human listener to discern a preference that correlated with their musical preference.

Hahaha. I usually did that on a real speaker (white noise and brushes), so I did that too here (voicing for the brush). No clip in this test produced a correct sound of brushes. ScanSpeak is the "closest" here, followed by Vifa then AHE I believe. All others sound too metallic. And this is a sign of fatiguing speaker. I think it was Lynn Olson who suggested this to me.

I voted, but it is not the popular choice as I found out later. It sounded silky smooth to me, at least on the first clip. It ran into some distortion on the second clip though.

A big thank you to X for doing all this work for our entertainment. There is much less room sound in this round. So great work, X!

A well integrated one at 2,7 does it for me. Maybe thats the reason I voted B.

Cannot see why.

It's funny that nobody vote for that noisy driver (down the list, not B). I believe that with a single notch filter it will wipe out most of the other contestants. 😎

For me it is not an entertainment. It's like having a great tool, or a very good book on speaker design 😀 Thanks, X.

Not TOO much less?
