It was 72 here today, but mostly cloudy. We just can't catch a break.
I hate you.
Re RPI - winter or summer, Upstate NY is unfortunately full of towns that match the description "industrial, without any industry"...
They are a real mess and it is not just NY State that has them. We get them in the UK too.

they have very long winters in Albany NY
(makes one feel deeply sorry for the Rensselaer toilet brush manager)
Istarted my garden already.
two rows of yellow onions
9 cabbage
9 broccoli
I was going to plant the purple onions but the backside of the gardenis too wet.
4 sets of cherry tomatoes
12 sets of Betterboy tomatoes
4 sets of Roma Tomatoes
4 sets of Jalapinos
Weather is supposed to be rain int he 60s for the next 4 to 6 days.
I need to setup for a heat lamp and daylight florecent lamps for the sets when the weather turns cold again.
I got a big kick out of the local news announcing the time change with "SPRING" across the boundry between Saturday and Sunday. What a bunch of Moroons, Spring is March 20th.

They keep saying "spring is coming!" as if saying it will bring it faster.🙄 Still some time till the last frost. Time to start seeds, but in trays for the nightshades so they can be inside under grow lamp.🙂 Peppers don't like it much below 50 at night, tomatoes may be a bit more tolerant.
The Tomatoes and Jalapeños "Sets" are all seeds in trays. I'll leave them outside while it is warm, and take them inside under lamps when it gets cold again.

One can at least "believe"???? The most powerful entity in the world, 😀 Walmart, has "forced" spring upon us by placing all their winter clothing on the discount racks, and filling the clothing sections with shorts, T-shirts and workout clothing.....that will work, right???? Then why were the customers in the local Walmart looking at me funny when I walked through wearing a tank top and flip flops......Come on, it made it to 54 degrees yesterday.

Yes, it is......would you rather have snow and 16 degrees? Rain, I can deal with. We had plenty of rain in Florida.
Either way, we closed on our new house about 2 weeks ago and finally, Sunday it was nice enough to spend some time actually moving in. I have about 1500 square feet of empty basement, and I need to build Tubelab all over again from scratch. All my stuff is in boxes, and all the workbenches, shelving, and stuff was left behind in Florida.....It will take a while.
I need to plant more hyacinths. They seem to diminish each year for some reason instead of spreading.
somewhere around March 21/22nd....When is Spring, officially? ...And who decided of those dates anyway, where is he/she from?

As usual, the Aussies don't get it.

well, they're upside down, that's all - or is that just a northern hemisphere-centric construct, and it's us that are?
Bob: hard to believe we're still over a week away from the Vernal EQ, - my wife's already got a bit of sun tan from garden work this past week or so, and the cherry / plum blossoms pink snow has already started to fall.
Now and again, we get our own back against those arrogant northerners ... Catalyst: Where Birdsong Began - ABC TV Science ... 🙂.

That's what they said yesterday. Glad they got that one wrong, for today at least. Today was the third tank top and flip flops day in a row. Sunshine and a high of 60 degrees.
Today I managed to round up two big guys with big pickup trucks. We spent the day moving heavy things.....like a refrigerator and some big furniture.
Tomorrow....it's wait for Comcast day. Yesterday it took 4 hours for their installer to get the phone to work. Can't blame him, two bad modems in a row. The first modem had no phone, but delivered 126 Mbps internet. The one we have now has phone, but internet is slow, 3 Mbps max. I thing it's the overloaded Comcast network myself, but I didn't have time to try it today. The first modem was tested at 2 PM on a weekday afternoon. The third was tested at 5:30, after all the plant workers and coal miners got home from work.
