I typically find that my +-50Vdc supplies drop to around 45V to 46V when the amp is delivering maximum sinewave power (110W into 8r0, or 42Vpk into 8r0).
That is ~ -8% to -10%
I also find that when testing the same amplifier + PSU into severe resistive load @ one half of the rated nominal impedance that the amplifier output voltage only changes by -0.4dBV to -0.6dBV. 40Vpk into 4r0 is -0.42dBV relative to the data in sentence 1.
These are excellent results.
Many amplifiers lose ~1dBV into half load resistance and some lose very much more.
The two results indicate to me that -8% to -10% is perfectly acceptable.

In PA application the 20-25% drop is common, especially with 2ohm load. The only reason is to save space, weight, and cost....

i am not agree with you.can anyone tell me what is the real reason of drop voltage?
The way you have asked the question, demanded an answer and belittled the very people that are trying to help you..... not sure anyone cares to convince you.

hi apex sir , please share of pcb layout of this 12 led vu meter.i want to make it and please tell how to connet this in diy mixer where is no amp out rms only audio signal.BD139, and this is 12 LED level meter version.

You must add circuit with TL072 if you want use vu meter with line level from diy mixer.

Why not use the popular LM3915? Less components, less hassle. 🙂
I have built with the LM3915 much (for example here:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/analog-line-level/226383-christmas-project-audio-analyser.html ) What is complicated at a comparator? This is a simple solution without adjustment.
I just like it.
I will mount it behind a dark gray Plexiglas, the front panel of the next amplifier.

...uuuuh...Ohm's law?
Do I get a cookie?
(It's not a law, it's postulate, a theory, an axiom..... but we foolishly and incorrectly call it a law)
