There are so many boards that I don't know which ones you guys are talking about anymore. Searching back through the thread is often not fruitful because there may be more than one "blue" board or "green" board.
I have a suggestion: in future posts when you refer to a board (unless it is very easy to find like the original al YJ "2.0 red board"), can folks please include link to board referenced? That would be very helpful. I follow this thread daily and I still get confused.
Thanks,
X
xrk,
You are right. There are so many boards available now (not that I am complaining), it is difficult to differentiate them by simply describing the colour.
I thought someone (may be it was KJA2013) posted a picture sometime ago that has all the boards on it (needs an update now). May be we can used it as a reference.
Regards,
When I was learning about this stuff back in the late 60's (I know I'm dating myself), the standards at the time seemed to agree with yours, i.e. F, uF and pF. Perhaps times and standards are different now. I know the nomenclature for resistors has undergone a radical change in the past 30 years. 😱 I do remember seeing the mfd designation over the years too though. I had been away from this stuff for 40 some odd years when I got back into DIY'g a few years ago. 🙂Old radio schematics had mf and mmf (micromicro farad) for uF and pF.
I don't even like nF.
F, uF, and pF are standards to me.
Just sayin'.
🙂

KJA2013,
Thanks for the image of the boards! If it would not be too much trouble to ask for you to include a link with each image? 🙂
Thanks again.

only thing is that links like that date quickly. I have long been not a fan of such links for this reason. I don't mean to disagree but.......
Good point about dated links which get broken. The picture with manufacturer and description of 2.0 etc should be enough for one to search.

Imagineering - Printed Circuit Board Fabrication - Home
For this TPA311x pcb they quoted me online, for 5 each $35 plus $100 tooling charge.
I do not have any favorite pcb mfg. I have done one project, a 4 layer pcb with Imagineering, they did a very good job and even did electrical testing. I received the introductory offer at $100 for 2 including tooling.By the way, where do you order your pchs?, I used a couple of times itead estudio and their boards are great for the price.

I totally agree. That wouldn't work too well.

More information on the boards in the picture:
The blue board labelled ?? 2.0 is made by ChengZhi
The green board labelled Alie 2.0 is made by Ybdz (acronym for the manufacturer)
Both are listed in Taobao

Hi all,
Been following this thread for a while. I have an Altec Lansing MX5021 2.1 set with a dying amplifier and I am wondering if I can use the 2.1 Breeze amp as a replacement for the built-in Altec amp in the sub case. The Breeze is so small it should happily sit on top of the sub and also effectively replace the little MX5021 control unit.
I am quite a newbie to diy - would I be able to use the sub-woofer of the Altec by just connecting speaker wire directly from the sub driver contacts to the Breeze sub output?
The Altec crossover is at 150Hz so I am hoping the Breeze crossover dial will be very helpful in adjusting the sweet-spot, this is my primary reason for preferring the Breeze to the YJ 2.1 box.
Also the Altec satellites are rated as 20W@6 ohms and the sub is rated as 50W@4 ohms, shall I order the TPA3116 Breeze (2x50W+100W sub) or shall I look into this new Breeze model based on a TPA3123 (2x20W+40W sub):
TPA3123 2 1 Channel Digital Power Amplifier Subwoofer Red Ring Inductance-in Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com
I am also hoping the Breeze will have better sound quality, the MX5021 original class AB amp has a constant transformer buzz which can be annoying when nothing is playing.

i have the red YJ board also.
Can you post a picture of the resistors that is involved with setting the gain ?
I want to set it around 26 db. and what are the values of the resistors?
thanks
Did you find an answer?! I'm interested too

Yes you can. In fact, I just did this with my Polk PSW111 sub whose plate amplifier broke. I opened her up and disconnected the terminals from the plate amplifier, took most of those parts out that were not permanently coupled to the backing, added additional damping material, and soldered the leads to the speaker directly to the terminals. I am not using the Breeze but a Dayton APA150 that has adjustable crossover, and it works very well. I use it in a 2.1 set up with Fostex FF105wk in a BR. I am loving it.
KJA or others, where are you finding the Breeze 2.1 amps? Not available anymore? After exhausting search options on ebay and Ali, I am only finding the Breeze tpa3123 2.1 on Ali...not the 3116. Like some others here, I am interested in the adjustable sub crossover.
