Here is how the drivers measured vs. the published specs:

Value Spec Driver A Driver B
Qms 2.021 3.278 3.250
Qes 0.757 0.781 0.847
Qts 0.551 0.631 0.672
Vas 0.87 0.985 0.869
Re 3.2 3.432 3.389
Fs 113 108.3 115.3

Its a little hard to read but you get the idea.

There is a bit of a difference from the published spec, but the two are pretty consistent with each other.

Here is a picture right out of the box.

Those specs are likely to drift a little as the mechanical parts soften. Needless to say the published and measured are close enough imo, especially as T/S parameters change with drive level too.

That is one thick top plate. Unless the thickness is the top plate + a spacer.

Received my pair in perfect condition, very well packed. Looks small but the quality of the driver is great - up to the level of the best Scandinavian examples. Measurements soon. Hopefully boxes soon too.

P.S. What are the dimensions of the port?

These look good on paper, no real rise or spike in the 4-9 kHz region and then a nice rise above that in the 'air' region. I guess someone will post there own measurements.

Are the samples still being sent or am I too late?

Dropped them into some existing test cabinets so not ideal but sound very good. I haven't got my Tang Bands to A/B but they seem similar. Top end is a little ragged but I haven't put any EQ on them. Sound stage is a little shallower. Not sure of the/any break in period?

With the driver mounted like that you're going to get diffraction issues, from the mounting flange to the baffle, that will affect the treble response, you really need them flush mounted. That and you will need baffle step compensation also, otherwise things will sound thin and forwards, ie loss of stage depth. Adding to this you're going to get a diffraction bump from cabinet edge diffraction that will probably place a peak/dip combo at around 2000Hz that will again make things seem more forward.

I want mine to arrive! Krellzou said he was going to sort out the problem of mine apparently being stolen, so I enquired as to what that meant, either a refund or being sent another pair, but I have yet to hear from him.

Here are my completed TABAQs with the Air320 drivers in them.

I've attached a measurement I took outside with REW. This is with 1/6th octave smoothing. I very much don't know what I doing when it comes to taking acoustical measurements so please keep that in mind when you look at the graph.

It looks like diffraction and comb filtering could be marring the results.

The dip at 1kHz, followed by the peak at 2kHz is what you would possibly expect from cabinet diffraction with a cabinet around that width. The uneveness in the treble looks like measurement artefacts rather than being strictly driver related. Of course the driver will show uneveness itself but who can tell what's really happening.

If you could though, try measuring them indoors instead and place the mic around 30cm away from the driver. Make sure there is nothing close to the loudspeakers too and see what you get then.

Due to the small cone diameter you should be able to place the mic as close as 15cm I'd reckon without it totally screwing up the high frequency measurement accuracy. Of course at this distance you wouldn't measure bafflestep or cabinet edge diffraction accurately, but it would give us a better idea of what the driver can achieve on its own.
