The 10P measures very good, almost too good to be true.
It's true.🙂
Now, what color to paint them in?
Baltic Birch doesn't need to be painted.😉

Knowing my wife; Yes, it does.
I understand MDF is not an option for these?

No.

Are there measurements of the 10 somewhere? The only ones I'm aware of are for the 10.2 on another site, and they measured bad compared to the spec sheet. But based on my very bad audio memory, the 10.3 is a lot better than the 10.2 or what ever previous version I heard a long time ago.
Looking at the different Pensils I almost want to build several of them, there is something simple and elegant about the 7 and 10 version.
I am talking factory measurements.
Exactly. You say it's almost to good to be true. I kinda think it is 😉 😱

Ahhh, quite the poet.
Well, I have 4 living rooms to fill with music - I think I can fit a couple of speakers. 😉

I would believe the accuracy of Mark's anecoic factory measures before anything done by us rookies in the field.
Unlike some manufactures he makes no concessions to "optimizing" the measures for marketing purposes.

Mark & his crew measure using one of the Chinese anechoic facilities with top class calibrated mics & software.

I speak under correction, but to the best of my knowledge, like most small companies to date MA have employed their own test gear but used the anechoic chamber in the factory where they hired production space. As I understand it, they are currently moving to a dedicated facility where they will have their own chamber.
OK, I may be diving into a swamp here....
I am planning on building a pair of 10ps. The plans show Baltic birch. I was thinking about MDF (the good kind) and laminating with veneer.
I noted bad karma about MDF. Could someone enlighten me on the issues? The MDF that I would use is a very high quality type, and cuts like butter on my friends contractor table saw.
Thanks for any advice.

The measurements from another site were done by a semi-pro in a nearly anechoic facility. He's paid and he uses a very large shop are. It's the top 3 or 4 octaves that really don't require an anechoic chamber anyways. And that's where I see the most descrepency.
I'd rank other manufacturer's as more reliable. All in my opinion.
Hey Jeff. I seem to get caught up in these kind of tug-of-wars 😛 I just saw your comment and wondered if there was a 3rd party or something backing up Mark's literature. I was curious because I really like the sound of MA drivers, but have always had a hard time with his frequency response data. Hope I'm not a downer.
