Tin,
the rectifiers must be next to the cap terminals to minimise the loop areas of the charging circuits.
The rectifiers should be next to the transformer output leads to minimise the loop areas of the charging circuits.
Design your PSU to meet minimum loop area criteria.
 
drilling and tapping this many holes in a big heatsink will always be scary, and Im glad it done now
and everything fits nicely, right in the middle 🙂

there will be an alu bar accross all transistors, with their legs facing up
and the driver is mounted right above them, with legs facing down
