Hey, I was thinking about how sad it is that you don't even have an O2 yet, and then I remembered I still have 1 set that I haven't put together yet!

So if you are interested I don't mind mailing you my spare kit (minus enclosure and PCB), and you just forward me your kit when you get it. How does that sound?

I suppose that's a no?

Sorry, I had a good long consider about your generous offer. I figured what would probably happen is that if I said yes, the kit BlueFusion owes me would arrive the next day (Murphy's law :p).

I see your point. However consider this: there are 2 foreseeable outcomes (according to you and Murphy)-
1) I send you my kit. shortly after you get your kit. You mail me one of the kits back.
2) I don't send you my kit. You don't get your kit. You are left with no kit for a long while.

Which one of the above options sounds better to you?

have you got your PCB/s? I will send you one with no need for it to be replaced, I have no need for 2, i may not even ever build 1. I didnt get kits or I would be offering one of them. I dont want to put words in Ancient wisdom's mouth, but I dont know that receiving a replacement for the kit is too high up his agenda. He is sending it to you relying on BF to replace it when he/we already know that is a long shot at best given history; pretty sure hes willing to write it off so that you have an amp

take the offer and give back to someone on the forum one day if someone needs a hand with something you can help with, pass it on; its the willingness to do these things that makes this forum great and its this spirit that BF spat on

It's great to see that there is still some decency in the world, BF will get what's coming to him. Might not be this week or the next but life has a pretty good way of sorting it out.

If life had a pretty good way of sorting it out, most of the politicians (the corrupt ones specially, which is most of them atleast in my country) would die a slow horrible death, since that doesnt seem to be happening, I have no faith in life sorting it out itself.:)

I beg to differ! The state of politics in any country is the citizens' fault and no one else's... and it shows that it is in fact being sorted out and we are paying horribly for not caring enough to do anything about it. Just some food for thought ;)

Tell that to someone in Burma/N. Korea/Bahrain/Syria etc!!

I can only imagine how long someone like the protagonist in this story would get on in one of those countries ... :smash: :headshot:

so its been confirmed, if you keep the info and actually did make the correct order in the first place. digikey will replace an incorrect part at no further cost, they will pay express shipping and they will depending on the value, send a courier to pick it up, but that doesnt effect when the replacement is sent out, they send that straight away and you have 30 day terms on the replacement which is credited and then deleted when the parts are shipped back to them.

this is pretty standard, so I think we can add that to another one of BFs loads of crap. he either didnt order the correct part, in which case there would be a restocking fee for same, didnt order it at all, or tore everything to pieces and didnt check anything before a reasonable time.

I got a copy of the order he sent to Mouser and checked it all against the official BOM (a nightmare tracking down some of the substitutions that were made due to lack of stock). Basically its his own fault, the order was correct, he obviously didn't check the parts in a timely manner after receiving them and/or didn't take the issue up with Mouser.

Gents, a few people a while back expressed interest in adding the ODAC to the O2. I'm not that keen on doing the organising but the project is up now.

How many of you are still keen if its a small group then I *may* consider organising if no one else is keen. We could share international shipping if that works out as viable, there certainly doesn't seem to be a bunch to be saved by buying in bulk this time other than saving on the shipping costs.

I got some numbers out of interest, if there is at least 10 boards we could do ok, any less than 10 its not worth it.

This weekend I might look into getting a O2 back panel to suit B2 enclosure and maybe a front panel done up from FPE too.

If we get a few people interested I'll start a thread for Aus ODAC.
