Wow... after all I am not alone in this subject.
Hi Frans, I see in the document the test for Adhesiveness states that with a 500g pull force, Lead wires should not shift or come off.
With such tight specs, no wonder it is difficult to remove the trannies.
Next time I will build a rig to place wires in the dmm so I can use clips to measure 🙂

I use to use one of these to clean the leads, when they were cheaper.

Now I just use a strip of scotch-brite between my fingers.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I hardware stores you can buy special plastic pads that are used to clean copper fittings or pipes for warm water installations before they are soldered. They are hard enough to clean any dirt and oxide off the leads but do not scratch them. They are cheap and work like a charm, I usually clean all leads before I solder them.

Hi Martin,
how are they called in german?

I don't remember. Seriously, I went to OBI and filed through the shelves where they have the copper fittings (somebody had mentioned them on a forum before) and found them within a minute. The one's I have are black, probably 5 by 10 cm, about 1 cm thick, and several of them in a plastic bag. Or just ask in there.

I normally scrap the NOS resistors leads with a knife before I solder them... but sometimes the leads become scratched... I know high frequencies travel in the surface so maybe it is not a very good idea to have scratched wires in the signal path...
Noooohhh, they're not black 😀 Other than that they just look the same ... seems to be pretty common stuff
You don't mean a ScotchBrite pad ?
(what i use for everything)

The Rothernberger one's look exactly like the one's I have. Not sure about the ScottishBride. Maybe they are the same kind, but it should not be the normal kitchen type pads as they do scratch the metal ...
I am surprised. A cap for Audio :CORNELL DUBILIER|FCA1210C105M-G2|CAPACITOR ACRYLIC FILM 1UF, 16V | Farnell Deutschland
Must be a huge market 🙂

I know there are caps for audio as well as there are transistors and opamps for audio.
There are also resistors that are made for audio (or at least, that is what it is claimed in the datasheets).
Why are you surprised ?
