horns? horns? they tend to echo, however, a good or great dirsperion ratio works well, no matter what horn. I do alot of small "clubs" here and a horn and simple driver works well off small power. so what is the problem?
I'm more interested in discussing data like that in post #1133.
...but measured in the far field which would be about 2 m distance or more

Begin thy quest here, pilgrim:so what is the problem?

Take 'em out in the yard and just do it.... 😉...but measured in the far field which would be about 2 m distance or more![]()

NY? High-rise? Yard?
Just bring them up to the roof. It's big and flat and you just have to pick you moment between the traffic noise and the planes out of Newark, JFK or Laguardia. 4am would probably be OK if you don't freeze to death or get blown off the top of the building. Especially tonight.
Rob😉
Hey, you're in Jersey....NY? High-rise? Yard?
Keep the data accurate.😀
Accurate enough 🙂
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Where? Up in the sky?
No.
From Skywave- I can see my building across the river. 😛
Well, there's your answer for doing farfield measurements....![]()
LOL
Point your Nathans eastward Markus. I've got Fuzzmeasure fired up.
Forward axis = Red, 2.60° above the midpoint between drivers.
Up toward waveguide = Org, Yel, Gry, Lt. Gry
Down toward woofer = Grn, Blu, Vio, Cyn
Eminence KappaLite 3012LF
B&C DE250 on QSC 152i waveguide

About $400 each, complete.... 😎

The QSC waveguide is compelling, but the cabinet is the tricky part. I own a JBL speaker which is similar to the design you've posted, and it's imaging is nowhere near as good as the Summa's. I believe the cabinet design plays a big part.
here is my QSC cabinet almost done.
I just picked up the 1 1/4" round over bit so I will build a second set with a bigger round over.

Patrick, what exactly is imaging? Not to be negative, but where does this come from, and from what basis do you come to this conclusion. From my side of wiew, the only way to be sure, is to record in the same room and then listen to an unaltered recording in the same room?
Peter
At 9X the cost and not DIY, I should certainly hope that Summas did SOMETHING better than these.... 😉
