Why are grown up people mean?

I'm sure you'll know about a forum where they call this forum "The Pub"? From time to time I read this forum and for those who don't know, the forum founders were a bunch of banned people from this forum. Some of them are rather decent but a few individuals must cry out their contempt. Why does it have to be that way?

Example:
Mr X says this about my forum:
Quote:
I know some other guy, from Sweden, who has several sockpuppets in his own forum.
He asks the questions about his own products and answers them.
Now beat this.
The forum software doesn't reveal a thing of the user identity such as IP numbers. I have clearly stated that the forum is mainly for support and you can also see that many of the users use the same nick as in other forums. Mr. X isn't a moderator at my forum, therefore he can't see IP numbers, not even a clue what they might be.

Mr. X is a grown up person which I'll believe has a working social life. What sort of urge does he have to publish information he has made up since he doesn't have any supporting info?

Need I say that Mr. X rather often has a bad and arrogant attitude.

My question is:
If you are 30-40 years old, why do you want to spread false info about people you don't know nor even met?

    Mmm, let me think.

"Career" didn't turn out quite as hoped for, neither is the salary ?
Consequently, the "domestic situation" also isn't exactly as anticipated and the opamp party is held in the closet ?
Then there's stuff like bad relationships, if applicable, or issues such as envy ?

Which merely leaves the classic Machismo with a pecker stuck in reverse gear.

Some of the worst trolls I have seen are over 50. Some have even evaded blocking that has stopped the worst Russio-Chinese botnets cold.

I dunno man. All it takes is one.....

    Cheers!

I notice also that those individuals are not young people. They should know better since age leads to some maturity.

It seems that Mr. Y over at the "other" forum is reading this blog. Hello!

He is hinting about that Mr. X not is refering to me. I see who that other person might be but he is using the same forum software where you can't see IP numbers therefore it's still only speculations about sockpuppets. It's still mean and pure gossip. It's refering about "products" which he hasn't got any.

This other gentleman isn't 100% well (I know what it is) so some compassion could be nice to show. Mr. Y, a humble attitude will make you feel better. I'll promise you. Try to spread joy around you.

Mean people are mean because they lack the inner strength for not being mean. It's simply a personality trait. The corollary is that they can actually do something against that trait, if they wish to.
