Ok now I'm finally satisfied with the unit being functional. Next up, cosmetics
The root of the single dead channel issues came from the tape monitor switch. The issue will be finding a replacement. It's a DPDT from SMK. If I can't find a replacement, I might just have to bypass the tape monitor.
Btw I have not measured the power output yet, the radio has a ton of wattage due to the chip amp swap! And I hooked the headphone jack up as it was on the original IC style chip amps. The radio was rated for something like 18wpc. I'm well over that now!

Can anyone out there help find these switches if you have time?
Brand is SMK and the toshiba part number is 2214627400. I did a quick search and the toshiba part number ended up resulting in phone numbers. I did not see any markings on the switch itself other than the brand. Nothing else was visibly marked that I saw.

Can't help with where to source a replacement from I'm afraid but that switch looks like it might come apart (bendable metal tags at the bottom).

(If the switch were beyond repair then using the faulty switch to control a relay to do the audio switching could be a possibility)

I happened to find 1 NOS exact replacement switch! I would have liked to find more to replace all of the switches. But 1 will do. I was really considering bypassing the switch and using the old marantz style thing where you run a tape monitor jumper on the tape monitor Rca jacks. The bad part of this bypass is that I would have to retain the broken switch as I don't want a goofy hole in the front panel.

so, here i have the new switch installed and ran into a slight snag, the new switch has a full throw to actuate where the old switch only traveled to 90degrees. at this point, ill just trim the faceplate and lower the switch to center the existing slot as much as possible.

i decided to build my own wood cabinet to replace the rotted nasty one. i used Finnish Birch as it was a harder wood than the crusty plywood it originally had.
