@ conehead

the lumens output isnt relevant... that means it doesent mathers, even if one got 1000 lumens and another projector got 3000 lumens...

thats because of the different optical units...
just take a look at your lamp!!!

Electrode distance
ac or dc?
wattage

thats all --> post a picture!!!!

@ texando

i think its a jys 250 w DC.... (lamp should have 220w...) but post a few pictures!!

there is a good link for lamp comparison

Psycho, thanks for the reply. When I mentioned my bulb is blown, I meant that it was blown up. It exploded and all that's left is the base which is cemented in the base of the reflector. Therefore I am unable to produce a picture or to test voltage. The only pictures I have found are all of the complete assembly. Almost all the bulbs listed on the data sheet I found when searching the DIY forums were JYd bulbs. As popular a projector as the AE700 was and is I was hoping someone had possibly replaced just the bulb. If I should happen to purcahse a new assembly I may take it apart so I can get a good look at the bulb, and also would be able take some voltage readings.

Yeah, my case is the same. Fortunately Psycho and YWH are both quite sure about the bulb in my Sanyo Z1, so I guess that's worth a try.

YWH is not around in the last couple of days... what's up there?

Psycho!
Thanks for the advice on the tool. I know the drill what you mean!

replacement lamps

Hi Yhw,

I have read this thread and note that you have many lamps for projectors. I sell dlp rear pro tv lamps to fellow enthusiasts in avforums in uk and I am being constantly asked about projector lamps...I would be very interested in talking to you regarding supply to me in the uk.

thanks

ade

Hi, alex2cool67.......

It looks like you need a 180W JYd lamp? The specs for the Sanyo PLC-XE30 say that it uses a 180W UHP lamp, which is quite a common type.....

http://www.quantum-micro.co.uk/pcology/pdfs/Projectorxe30.pdf#search="Sanyo PLC-XE30 manual"

or....

http://uk.shopping.com/xPF-Sanyo_Sa...A_1500_ANSI_2_4kg_400_1_Contrast_3Yr_Warranty

I think JYd bulbs generally work OK on projectors with UHP or VIP ballasts, but hopefully ywh will be able to confirm this for you. I think the UHP type is an AC type lamp too?

btw: Does anyone know which methods they might use in the factory to fit the bulbs to the reflector? I'm guessing they use some sort of grommet to keep the cement / paste in place?

I had to move the bulb slightly further towards the front of the reflector in my Sharp PG-M15X PJ because the bulb was too long. This causes very slight dim areas near the edges and corners of the image, but it's not too bad. Also, I still had to snip off the last bit of the screw thread with pliers to get the bulb to fit inside the lamp housing (NOT recommended!!!)

ywh, are the bulbs available without the metal part and screw thread on so that it just has the two wires at either end?
