made sure that they got the credit AND the money
that his job is to create a great environment for us to do great things
I used to have hump-day dinner at my place every other week for my people... usually about 15 people or so. Cost me a couple hundred each time... but everyone would get stuffed and wrecked... all the bad blood got spilled there and not at work. Gave us a real tight team plus I learned alot about cooking. NOTE: Thursday was "meeting day".

Hi, Poobah,
Are you in a mission of making all audio DIY'ers into Boss-es by revealing the secrets?:D
The quotes above are exactly what a real "boss" is doing.

I notice several boss. Real boss, not only in the company structure diagram.

First, he has to master the technical things first. After he mastered all the technical job, if he can do those things (above quotes), he can be a boss. But if he cannot do those, he will become an employer, or supervisor at max.

A real boss can make a company works for himself automaticly. He can create a working environment that makes the employers enjoy their work, and have all the works well done.

He also not thinking about himself only. If his employer wants and can afford a Mercedes from what his contribution for the company, the boss will encourage the employer do that, because the boss knows that what makes the employer happy and satisfied.
The boss doesn't think that only himself have the right to buy a Mercedes, and employers are there to make that Mercedes for himself.
If the employer have a Mercedes, while his works can make the boss buy 10 Mercedes, why not? The employer will be more motivated if he has the credit and the money for what he does.

In company structure diagram there is a boss, manager, sales, paperworks, office boy,....etc until toilet janitor.

There is a trick question. Who is the lowest ranking?

If we look at the structure in the paper, maybe it is the toilet janitor.

But actually, the lowest ranking, that has to do the lowest job is the boss.

A good boss will think about the toilet janitor. Is he has enough earning for his family? What happens if he get sick, is he covered enough? Is he grumpling about his job?

While the toilet janitor never thinks about how is the boss doing. Is the boss happy or not, he doesn't care, while the boss (a good one) will think about how the toilet janitor is.
Actually the boss is serving the janitor........

He is only about 3 1/2 hours away ..... by jet airplane! Add 1/2 hour or so to the airport from here. You are farther though!

No flight from TO directly to here, so you have to add a wait in Vancouver (or Calgary), the additional flight, the wait at the TO airport, and then the half-hour to drive ftom the airpost to my place -- just let me know when i have to pick you up...

If Choky is headed to CA he is actually closer, but given air travel, customs etc, about the same...

14-15 hrs (+ ferry) to drive to CA, probably take 3 days to get to TO (and a day to recover from the drive)

Northern Califorinia in 15! Or you're one of those too-rare pedal-to-the-metal Lower Mainland drivers. ;)

I've actually spent more time in San Fransico than Vancouver....

You have to pick your time... leave Vancouver just before rush-hour, gets you to Seattle just after, and into Napa Valley for an early breakfast. I've done it a number of times, once in a Rabbit governed to 80 miles/hr and once in a little japanese thing barely able to get out of its own way (but still able to cruise at about 70-75 once you got it there). You also need to have a big bladder.

Thanks for the tip! To be honest, the last time was a decision to visit my brother in Ventura made Boxing Day morning at 8 a.m.. On the road with $7 in my pocket by 11. Not the best laid of plans. Almost three hours from Seattle to Tacoma because of rain followed by a police escort through the Shastas because of all the accidents, hit Redwood a bit after 3:00 a.m.. There to Ventura was almost half a day alone. Your itinerary sounds wiser, if not as memorable.

The memorable iinerary is take the blackball to Port Angeles & drive the coast. 2 days at least. More if you really want to enjoy it. If on motorcycle there is stretch of road from the 101 back to the coast (#1) that we found worthwhile to travel all the way back across California from the Sierra Nevadas so that we could ride it again.

seems that this thread is just great for off-topic things..:clown:

Q for "almost brother in job" anatech (and for poobah, too :devilr: ) :
any tips for restoring ReVox B225 ?
I was given this days with one,and seems that only malfunction (besides some moisture residue that need cleaning and all elcos needing replace) is broken reductor (exact word?) for tray opening....if nothing else-I'll put some little motor for light effects (for filters rotating ).......

anyway-nice partner for my also ancient CD303 ,even if later is in muted state in last several months........(spinin' readin' but muted as fish :clown: ).........

Choky,

Our friend Chris gave me the schematic for PRO version of the B225... it looks the same to me.

I guess the 'lytics in these are very bad. Chris was saying the flat cable for the drawer has problems on certain serial numbers. He will know much more.

I can send the schem... but it is very large... 80 MB.
