i would like to explain it to you personally..
well now, back to the topic, these types of boosters does not perform well on the whole audio frequency spectrum..
its performance is degraded specially on the highs due to core loss (iron cores)..despite this,it really gives the "punch" bass..
so i have used power amps for the highs & this booster for the lows..

kung full-range ang imo gusto nga operation bay, ferrite cores are not advisable for LF applications..in this configuration,depending on what the core is made of,we will have to sacrifice either low or high spectrum..
aside from that,its very hard to find big ferrite cores diri sa atoa..
many reasons why this topology is long been forgotten:
*limited freq response
*bulky/heavy
*requires more current (therefore big wires)
& others i forget
well,transformer coupled push-pull amplifiers were the "high powered" amps back in the days..
